The second episode in the series, after its direct predecessor, to be an original story rather than an adaptation of one of Jean-François Parot's novels, despite there being at the time of production five novels yet to be adapted. This was, according to Marc Eloy, to be able to keep the same characters at around the same age as the novels take place many years apart.
