Selenium has similar chemistry to sulfur but where organic sulfur compounds are particularly pungent selenium compounds are even worse. Combined with sulfur, selenium is used as a bactericide in shampoo to treat dandruff. Some people eat selenium as a dietary supplement. Peter displays a sample of black selenium pellets.—David Foss
