An intense trailer has been released for a new home invasion thriller coming out called Breaking In. The movie stars Gabrielle Union as a mother "who will stop at nothing to rescue her two children being held hostage in a house designed with impenetrable security. No trap, no trick and especially no man inside can match a mother with a mission when she is determined on Breaking In." She comes off as being a complete badass in the film. She's like the John McClane of moms.
The movie is being directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta, Sense8) from a script written by Ryan Engle (Non-Stop). It also co-stars Billy Burke (Twilight), Richard Cabral (End of Watch), Seth Carr (Black Panther) and Ajiona Alexus (Empire).
Breaking In hits theaters on May 11th. It looks like it could be a solid thriller! Check out the trailer and tell us what you think.

In David Fincher‘s underrated 2002 thriller, Jodie Foster defends her home and protects her daughter (Kristen Stewart), from a bunch of thugs (led by Jared Leto) who are trying to break in and steal something secret contained within the walls of the house. The upcoming “Breaking In” turns that premise inside out.
Starring Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke, Richard Cabral, Seth Carr, and Ajiona Alexus, and directed by James McTeigue (“V For Vendetta,” “Ninja Assassin“), the story follows a woman who has to break into an impenetrable fortress of a house, after her two kids are taken hostage.

Back when he ran FX and NBC, Kevin Reilly, now in charge of Fox's entertainment division, developed a rep for being something of a gambler, making big bets on the kinds of shows that more lily-livered suits would reject on sight: The Shield, Nip/Tuck, The Office, My Name Is Earl, Friday Night Lights. That gutsiness has continued at Fox, where Reilly pushed past internal naysayers to green-light Glee and a half-hour comedy starring indie darling Zooey Deschanel. Of course, wagers don't always pay off: Reilly is also responsible for Terra Nova, Lone Star, and a second season of Breaking In. And it's the ghost of those latter failures that haunts Fox's prime-time lineup this fall: Having now spent eight years as the No. 1 network among viewers under 50, there is no logical reason for Reilly's Fox to take many big bets with the schedule. While every other network (including...

The Fall TV Season presentations for all the new network shows take place this week with the second announced today. Here's a full breakdown of which concepts have made the final list over on Fox.
Former stalwart "House" is done, last year's two new high-concept dramas "Terra Nova” and “Alcatraz" fizzled, and ratings juggernaut "American Idol" saw quite a precipitous drop-off this past season. Yet the Murdoch network remains robust with last year's successful launch of "New Girl" and "The X Factor" helping cover up the deficiencies. The new schedule boasts two important elements - another attempt to launch a four show comedy block on Tuesdays despite failed attempts in the past, and the move of "Glee" to the prestigious (but competitive) Thursday 9pm slot.
Several other pilots didn't make the final cut and won't be seen including the spy-as-a-photojournalist thriller "The Asset", the Cuba Gooding Jr.-led legal drama...

Chicago – When so much of your already-limited primetime schedule is devoted to reality singing competitions and animated programming, it gives a network little room to play. Fox only has a few timeslots once one takes “The X Factor”/”American Idol” and “Animation Domination” out of the equation. But play they will. “Touch” is moving to Fridays, “Glee” is moving to Thursdays, and they will launch three new shows in the Fall.
The Fall on Fox will feature only one new drama (“The Mob Doctor”) and two new comedies (“Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project”). Some of their most interesting programming, including the highly touted “The Following” with Kevin Bacon, won’t premiere until mid-season.
Saturdays and Sundays will look the same and “The X Factor” and “American Idol” will have the same Wednesday night two-hour and Thursday result schedule.

That timeslot’s former occupant, Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch, will shift to Fridays where it will lead into the final season of Fringe.

Smartest Move: Just how much leeway are we willing to give TBS for picking up Cougar Town for one more season with a potential for two? So much so that we’re completely okay if the network wants to re-name the show Tyler Perry Presents: Cougar Town.
Favorite Season Finale [Thus Far]: Thursday’s season finale of The Vampire Diaries was Lost third season finale good. Note to The CW: Whatever showrunner Julie Plec is getting paid, well, it’s not enough.

There won't be a last minute season three reprieve for Breaking In. After 20 episodes, the Fox sitcom has been cancelled for good this time.
Breaking In revolves around a crack team of security experts who will do just about anything to bug one another, get a job or keep a client. It stars Christian Slater, Megan Mullally, Alphonso McAuley, Bret Harrison and Erin Richards.
The sitcom debuted mid-season 2010-11 and did moderately well in its limited first season run. Fox cancelled it but then went on to make a new deal for a season two. While a lot of fans expressed excitement over the series resurrection, few seemed to care when the show returned this past March.

Fox has renewed "Family Guy" and "American Dad," but the future remains unclear for "The Cleveland Show," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This will be Season 11 for "Family Guy" and Season 8 for "American Dad," each of which will have the standard 22 episodes. "Family Guy" and "American Dad" air back-to-back on Fox's Sunday Animation Domination block, which also includes "The Cleveland Show."
Though it's good news for two of Seth MacFarlane's animated comedies, Fox is postponing its decision on a Season 5 of "The Cleveland Show," which is a spinoff of "Family Guy." The show, however, will see a Season 4.

After resisting for some time, Fox has ripped off the band-aid and canceled "Breaking In" and "I Hate My Teenage Daughter."
"Breaking In," a show about an eclectic team of geniuses and thieves who work at a high tech security firm, was initially canceled last May. But "Breaking In" was brought back in August for a second season in hopes that the addition of Megan Mullally would up ratings, but they remained low.
"I Hate My Teenage Daughter," starring Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran, centered on two mothers who worried their daughters are turning into "mean girls." In April, Fox announced that it had been taken off the schedule, with reruns of "Raising Hope" airing in its 8:30 p.m. Et timeslot on Tuesdays. But now, it's gone for good.
The comedies join Fox's "Alcatraz" and "The Finder," whose cancellations were announced today as well.

So goes another J.J. Abrams show and the Bones spinoff. While Fox spared Fringe fans grief by giving them a baker’s dozen for a fifth and final season, Fox was not so kind with the supernatural procedural, Alcatraz. It was an average, but not spectacular show that simply took too long to get to the interesting part of its story. Had it launched on cable, maybe it would have survived but there are no major organized online campaigns fighting for Alcatraz because it simply wasn’t special enough. Fox’s Finder too got the pink slip and viewers had to see that coming once they got the reassigned to Friday nights. It was a brutal year for Fox’s freshman dramas. Terra Nova was also axed in the winter despite reasonable ratings. They weren’t high enough though for the network to justify it’s costs. Fox already admitted...

Fox is experiencing a case of déjà vu. The network has officially canceled Breaking In for the second time and I Hate My Teenage Daughter for the third time. After being brought back from the dead for a second season as part of Fox's Tuesday comedy block, Christian Slater workplace comedy Breaking In, from Sony Pictures Television, struggled to gain traction, despite new addition Megan Mullally. Airing after New Girl, the Adam F. Goldberg-created series hovered around 3 million viewers and was yanked in favor of repeats of the Zooey Deschanel comedy. The cancellation marks the second time the

Fox giveth and now Fox taketh away.
The network, which just got done picking up five new shows and renewing a sixth (Kiefer Sutherland’s Touch), has axed freshman dramas Alcatraz and The Finder.
The J.J. Abrams thriller and the Bones spinoff both launched at midseason with much fanfare and decent ratings. But those initial numbers didn’t hold. The Finder was eventually banished to Friday nights, which is where it will complete its run this week.
Fox has also cancelled Breaking In and I Hate My Teenage Daughter.

Amidst its slew of new series pickups, I’ve learned that Fox also has renewed midseason drama Touch for a second season. The news comes on the heels of a ratings rebound for Tim Kring’s series starring Kiefer Sutherland following a post-premiere slide. 20th TV and Chernin Entertainment are producing. The jury is still out on fellow freshman drama series The Finder, which had shown some signs of life on Friday, but its chances don’t look good. Update: The Finder is indeed now a goner. Alcatraz is out of the picture, especially after Fox renewed J.J. Abrams’ other bubble drama series, Fringe. It has been a great afternoon for Chernin Entertainment, whose Fox comedy pilot Ben & Kate (formerly Ben Fox Is My Manny) received a series pickup an hour and a half ago. Joining The Finder and Alcatraz on the cancellation pile are comedies Breaking In and I Hate My Teenage Daughter.

After cancelling Breaking In last spring, Fox worked out a deal and resurrected the sitcom for season two. Many fans were very happy that the show had been saved but few seem to be tuning in to watch these days.
Starring Christian Slater, Megan Mullally, Alphonso McAuley, Bret Harrison and Erin Richards, Breaking In has been doing quite poorly in the ratings and is down by 40% when compared to last year.
After just five episodes, the sitcom has been averaging a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.01 million total viewers. Aside from Fringe, it's the lowest-rated scripted series on the network this season -- doing much worse than already-cancelled shows like Allen Gregory and Terra Nova.

"Breaking In's" return from the canceled-show graveyard is not shaping up to be a very long one.
The show had been slated to return to the 9:30 p.m. spot on Tuesday nights starting April 24, but that's no longer happening: Fox has pulled the last three episodes of the season from the schedule. The network will air repeats of "New Girl" there instead.
A Fox rep tells Zap2it that the remaining three episodes may air at some point, but scheduling hasn't been worked out yet. (EW first reported the news of "Breaking In" being pulled.)
The yanking of the episodes certainly doesn't bode well for the show's future. If cancellation follows, "Breaking In" will join the smallish club of shows that have gotten the ax twice. Fox dropped the show after last season, but revived it for a midseason spot this year.
The revival did not bring forth better ratings.

Cruel, cruel TV fate: After bringing the Christian Slater comedy "Breaking In" back from the dead, Fox has pulled it from its schedule for the rest of April and May. "Breaking In," the little Fox show that could, has been benched by the network. Again.
According to EW, "New Girl" reruns will occupy the Tuesdays, 9:30 p.m. Et timeslot "Breaking In" was scheduled to take on April 24. The final three episodes of "Breaking In" will air at a later date. "Breaking In" joins "I Hate My Teenage Daughters" in "pretty much canceled, but not officially" limbo. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed "Breaking In's" removal from the schedule.
"Breaking In" was canceled by Fox at the end of last season, but the Christian Slater series got a surprise renewal for midseason after the plug was originally pulled. "Will & Grace" star Megan Mullally joined the cast, but her added comedy might wasn't enough to save the troubled series. The most recent episode had 2.6 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, compared to "New Girl's" 4.6 million viewers and 2.3 rating.

Way back in April 2011, Vulture wondered if Christian Slater's run of bad TV luck could be zapped with Breaking In, a show that wound up being canceled a month later, then magically renewed over the summer. Now, just five episodes into the second season's unlikely-but-prophesied mid-season resurrection, the answer to Slater's TV fate is a definitive "not this time, bro": Breaking In is getting canned early. In its place, Deadline reports, Fox will show reruns from New Girl's still-running freshman season, likely an effort to further support the already-renewed series. Breaking In's unaired installments will get burned off at some point (possibly summer), but maybe just go re-watch True Romance for now and bask in a happier time for Slater's onscreen goings-on.

It's the one case the team at Breaking In just couldn't crack. Fox has officially pulled the sophmore comedy starring Christian Slater from its Tuesday night line-up for the rest of the season and will instead be offering up a double dose of freshman standout New Girl. Anyone else still mourning last week's season finale of "Happy Endings"? The idea that one of my favorite comedies is no more (until the fall, that is) would normally make me as miserable and bitter as Demi Moore on her sixth anniversary to Ashton Kutcher. The only thing that didn't have me completely spiralling is the replacement for "Happy Endings."
I wasn't wiping tears from my eyes or looking for my remote to rewind because I missed some hilarious exchange after watching "Don't Mess With the B---- in Apartment 23," but I did chuckle quite a few times. And sometimes, particularly for a pilot, some laughter is all that's needed to showcase a series' potential.
