- TriviaLong believed lost, Eric's son Gary Morecambe discovered a monochrome film copy of the episode in the attic of the family home in Harpenden, Hertfordshire amongst seven unlabelled cans. The edition has had the original colour restored to it via the chromadot process, and received a broadcast as part of BBC2's 2021 Christmas Day schedule.

Does Gary Morecambe spend all day trying to find 'lost' episodes of Morecambe and Wise? It certainly seems so.
ITV aired this episode first earlier in 2021 oddly, but butchered it by focussing more on the talking heads telling us how funny it all was, rather than allow us to make our minds up for ourselves.
The BBC (the true home of M+W) have now aired it, a rarity for them, as we normally only get one repeat of a Christmas Special a year.
And while on the whole the Christmas Specials are non stop top quality this episode never really rises above being average.
Don't get me wrong, there's some nice moments, but lots of the sketches fizzle out, or are overly long.
I'm not sure I'd have been jumping up and down for joy having found this in the loft.
