Marisa Brown’s short film Rain For Morgan has won ‘Best International Short in under 50 minutes’ at the Ireland International Film Festival.
Shot in Shepparton, Melbourne, the film is set in World War II drought-stricken Australia and based on the Celtic myth ‘Johnny Cropy and the Mermaid’.
Brown said that “presenting a Celtic myth retold in an Australian setting to a Irish audience was a nerve-wracking experience.”
Will Nugent – Ireland International Film Festival director described Rain for Morgan as “a beautiful piece of cinema”
The film will also screen in Los Angeles, Egypt and South Africa.
