A better episode than previous one's but...
dehanmeerholz11 December 2021
Safe House was definitely a improvement over the last several episodes. With good action and a overall good story. My only issue is that once again they couldn't keep politics out of it. This time it's Chris getting up on the soap box. I found her argument with Deacon to be especially bad. Not just because of what she was saying but how she was saying it. It was a borderline verbal attack, no respect shown for her superior officer with her all but saying Deacon has white privilege. To cap it off he did nothing to warrant it but the show wants you to feel he did. They are effectively using Deacon as a strawman who's political view is always wrong and needs to be told why.

SWAT is my favorite show
chrisreece-1489620 December 2021
SWAT is hands down my favorite show, but this episode was the worst ever. I expect cop shows to weigh in on contemporary issues, I find it to be the responsible thing to do considering the platform - that was not my issue with this episode, I think SWAT always handles the sensitive subjects well, and gives the audience a chance to look at an issue through a different lens..... My problem with this episode is this was the lowest budget episode I can remember. No fighting, no special effects, no shooting, a couple of bad editing mistakes as well. SWAT usually has a high production value but that was definitely missing on this episode. I hope they get their $ right and keep bringing us the FIRE episodes we've come to love.

Chris is terribly written
amcguire0112 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Second to how Deacon is written, Chris is so poorly written on this show.

Deacon is always made to eventually change his mind on issues he feels strongly about. Chris yells at her superior and doesn't get a reprimand. Her soapbox this episode is helping the person who is hiding illegal people. She took an oath to uphold the law. She cannot pick and choose. Deac was right, there are churches and programs to help people seeking asylum. It's not on Chris to bend the rules because SHE feels strongly about it. The rest of the episode is not memorable. This is one of the worst of the whole series.

Typical Leftist Politics Disguised as Prime Time TV
jdgtc112 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
People only have to follow the laws they agree with. Police only have to enforce the laws they agree with, when it's convenient. Human trafficking is only a felony, when a narco street gang does it, not when the Feds track down criminals.

The interaction between Deacon & Chris was ridiculous and inappropriately aggressive. Don't even get me started on the use of less lethal weapons on criminals who are shooting at you.

Leave the politics at the ballot box, and make watchable tv, without the agenda.

Off Track Again
spikeluvr18 January 2022
I don't expect a show like SWAT to always be completely realistic but this season they've gone off the rails to push a political agenda. It's bad enough they're rationalizing illegals being given safe havens with private citizens and all the expense associated with an elite SWAT team resolving her kidnapping. They also have ICE deliberately interrupting a joint task force rescuing the girl. Like ICE is so determined to hunt down one illegal drug mule they would do something like that. And, as usual, Deacon is made to feel that his respect for law and order is a bad thing and Cris' lack of respect for it seems vindicated. They need to get back on track solving crimes without imposing a message in every episode.
