Bond Sahib
Lomax34318 March 2024
Every country has its special forces, and I'm sure every nation on Earth likes to think that theirs are a bit more special than most. Yodha seems to be the Indian version of the SAS (whether they really are, or were made up for the film, I don't know).

Just about every film about special services centres round an inividual who's jolly good at killing bad guys, but whose disregard of protocol annoys his superiors. Then an operation goes wrong (not our hero's fault, but he's conveniently placed to take the blame). He's suspended.

Then the film moves to the main event. Our hero is drawn into something really big. Not only that, he's set up to make it look as though he's gone rogue, so that even his former comrades are out to get him. Yada, yada yada, shoot-out, big explosion, guess who saves the day and is reinstated?

It's a tried and trusted formula, which needs a certain amount of style to lift it out of the very ordinary. James Bond has this style; John Wick has this style; Arnie had it in his earlier films. Yodha doesn't.

The fight scenes are well-choreographed, but the pulse doesn't race. The twists aren't too difficult to see coming; the hero's relationship problems are a yawn.

This isn't a bad film, but it's formulaic, predictable and - for all its action sequences - pedestrian. Oh, and the villain's disappointingly short on charisma.

This is also the first film I've seen that had an actual interval in the cinema since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Solid Action Outweighs Predictable Story
magadalwarmayur15 March 2024
Wow, did "Yodha" ever deliver! Directed by the dynamic duo of Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, this movie throws Sidharth Malhotra into a whirlwind of action sequences that are both exhilarating and surprisingly fresh for Indian cinema. The narrative might utilize some familiar genre tropes, but "Yodha" injects a whole new energy level that keeps you riveted to the screen from the opening scene.

The film thrives on a breakneck pace. Each scene throws you right into the heart of the action, eschewing lulls and propelling you forward. The directors are masters at building suspense, with each plot twist ratcheting up the tension. Even when things veer towards predictability, "Yodha" manages to surprise and keep you on the edge of your seat.

The undeniable chemistry between Malhotra and Rashi Khanna adds another layer of depth to the story. You can't help but become invested in their journey, rooting for them as they confront danger together. Their camaraderie and connection become an anchor amidst the high-octane action.

The movie's one minor stumble lies with the supporting cast. The Yodha task force, with its intriguing name, promises a compelling team dynamic. However, the film doesn't provide enough opportunities to delve into their backstories or motivations. Exploring their backgrounds could have added another layer of intrigue, but perhaps the relentless pacing simply didn't allow for it.

Despite this minor drawback, "Yodha" is a thrilling rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. The plot is tightly constructed, with the action sequences serving not just as spectacle but also as plot drivers. The over-the-top climax leaves a lasting impression, solidifying the film's place as a must-watch for pure adrenaline junkies.

After a compelling film like "Shaitaan" last week, "Yodha" marks another strong start to the cinematic calendar, promising audiences an adrenaline-fueled ride they won't soon forget.

Forgettable furlough into cliched troupes hammered into semblance
anantvirjalan17 March 2024
Yodha a name that in itself inspires magnetism and people fill the Hall with an expectation of an action packed drama. The film stands up on this measure, it is filled with actions scenes but the makers in their over eagerness have tried to fit all the action plot points that can happen in this amalgamation. Often viewers question the logic and rationality behind the scene. Often the villains and their goons perform stupid actions only for explosive glamour. Often Siddharth Malhotra utters a dialogue which he believes will be a sensation only for it to fall flat and forgettable. Forgettable and predictable can aptly describe the plot and though there are silver linings that account for surprise, mirth and excitement , they are too far few to engross the viewer and hush conversations in the hall. Such plots without fail entice conversations on their veracity, feasibility and practicality.

This movie is a flop and a waste of time.
shahedshanto17 March 2024
Story : The story of the movie is quite good. Not so good and not so bad.

Screenplay : The entire movie is good except for the climax scene. There are some illogical and unrealistic scenes.

The action scene during the 360 degree turn of the plane was amazing.

Not everyone's performance was good. Music is very bad Background score - Needless to say Movie length - Another five to ten minutes of scenes could have been cut Negative point : The climax scene in the movie is completely unrealistic and illogical

Entertainment was somewhat lacking in the movie. There are much better movies to watch than this one.

Don't raise your expectations for this recent addition to the lineup of patriotic action films. While Yodha may not soar to the heights of a Shershaah, this Sidharth Malhotra starrer manages to engage and take audiences on a ride through a predictable yet gripping hijacking scenario. The film offers a decent ride for fans of the genre, with enough action and intrigue to keep audiences engaged throughout its runtime.

The first half navigates its storyline with a fair share of exciting moments and twists. While the mid-air stunts deliver the anticipated adrenaline rush, the plot struggles to maintain the same level of engagement. One of the film's strengths lies in its editing, ensuring a tight narrative that never feels stretched despite its turbulence. The background score seamlessly complements the genre, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Sidharth Malhotra, in his uniform-clad avatar, with his striking presence delivers a commendable performance, particularly in the action sequences. Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani, add their own flavors to the mix, with Raashii initially impressive but her character was not written well, while Disha shines brighter in the latter half of the film. Sunny Hinduja also deserves a nod for his confident portrayal, though other supporting actors deliver just passably.

Direction 3/5 Acting 3/5 Action 3.5/5 Story 2.5/5 Screenplay 3/5.

Gripped and good paced story with action
alamshaharyar25 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Story is nothing the same India vs Pakistan obviously they are neighboiur and also the enemy. But ofcourse we can say a lot of story come from this point.

Hats off to the writer and directors both who never losses the grip of the story from start to end including love, emotion and patriotis.

About the acting -

Siddharth Malhotra again proof he is a good actor but after "A Gentleman: Sundar, Susheel, Risky" he surprised us with his good action skills.

Rashi Khanna is total waist of this movie. She is a good actor but she become a showpiece in this movie who have shown only for an emotion part.

Disha Patani first time she surprised with her acting skill. Before she was represent as a sex symbl or item girl in the movie.

Overall it is a movie which will not let you to blink your eyes for an momonet and sit tight on you seat.

Cheap copy of a Hollywood action movie minus the logic
vnsons12 April 2024
Plot/Storyline - there would literally be 500+ movies made in Hollywood and about 100 in Bollywood, but based on an assumption that most people dont use logic Directorand storytellers have used even a bit of logic and emotional melodrama is just icing on the cake Keep a headache pill handy.

Sidharth Malhotra - he is not a solidier in the movie he has played a superhero who can dodge bullets from 2 meter distance and ofcourse he can kill many people with his bare hands. He just wouldn't die whatever terrorists do. Malhotra lacks expressions he is better off as a model. Can't say more than that.. Rasshi Khanna is horrible as a task force chief, not at all commanding as a chief should be..looks more like a school teacher. She is weak and emotional in the entire movie Her subordinate is her husband which is a conflict of interest.

An Unbearable Affront to Cinema YODHA
minashproductions15 March 2024
Watching this movie directed by Pushkar Oza and Sagar Ambre was not just a disappointment, but an outright insult to the art of filmmaking. It's a mind-numbing exercise in tedium, where every minute feels like an eternity of wasted potential. The screenplay is so devoid of life and creativity that it's as if the writers were actively trying to drain any semblance of entertainment from the film.

The dialogue, if you can even call it that, is a cringe-inducing parade of clichés and tired tropes that belong in the bargain bin of forgotten B-movies. It's painfully obvious that the duo directors have yet to grasp even the most basic principles of compelling storytelling. They seem content to rely on the crutch of big-name actors and a bloated production budget, mistakenly believing that flashy visuals and famous faces can compensate for a lack of substance.

But alas, no amount of star power or expensive set pieces can salvage this sinking ship of a film. It's a cinematic catastrophe of epic proportions, a slap in the face to anyone who values their time and intelligence. Save yourself the agony and steer clear of this train wreck unless, masochistically, you derive pleasure from subjecting yourself to two hours of soul-crushing mediocrity.

This is what happens when the producers not only bet on the inferior horses, but also hand them blinders and expect them to win the race. It's a disgraceful display of incompetence that tarnishes the reputation of everyone involved, leaving a stain on the industry that may never wash away.

Action Packed thriller with stunning Visuals...
shaikhirshad-4122315 March 2024
Yodha is a perfect High octane action entertainer that will give you a complete edge of the seat thriller ride from start to end.

First of all I really wanna appreciate the director's of this film to create such a good action experience as a debutant is not an easy job.

This is a movie of execution and fast paced screenplay don't expect much from the story because there is a lots of twist in which some are good and some are just for the confusion but what will make you like the film is the Cinematography which is just good to see infact the visuals are really stunning and makes the film shine from start to end.

Action sequences are unique and stylish and good to watch in the film and special mention to one take sequence which is a highlight.

Performance wise definitely A SIDDHARTH MALHOTRA SHOW for me. His character presence, action sequences and the tension that his character creates carries the whole film. You can easily say that Siddharth perosna definitely suits as an action star in coming years.

Talking about rest of the cast Raashi khanna surprises with her charm and performance and chemistry between Siddharth & Raashi is perfect in the film. Disha Patani comes as a surprise package specially her character in this film is just excellent. And she really looks good when she does action in the film.

Overall Yodha doesn't disappoint and live upto its Expectations with stylized action, engaging screenplay & brilliant visual effects. A worth watch....

Worst movie to be in theatre for
padmaajaulkar15 March 2024
This is the worst movie experience ever. Too many plots. It's not having one plot, it's having many at once. These should not be called even plot twists. They are just some stupid plots one after another. An unbearable movie. You can call it a genZ movie, since it feels like a collection of many reels, not having any importance to the audience's attention span. Do not go or watch it ever in your life.

Just making movies on national topics is the trend that is being followed. Not having any authentic story in it.

Also Siddharth Malhotra is only being type casted to the similar soldier kind roles and he's also not doing anything different.

Time lost is time gone...!!!
PANDIAN12062127 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
YODHA' is an absolute must-watch movie. With an amazing plot brimming with appreciable twists, this film keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The action scenes are impeccably crafted, adding a thrilling element to the narrative. What truly sets this movie apart is its refreshingly different plot, offering a unique experience unlike any other...

This is a movie carrying through a fast-paced screenplay don't expect much from the story because there are a lot of twists some are good, and some are just for the confusion. The film manages to surprise and keep you on the edge of your seat. Sagar Ambre has scripted the film apart from co-directing it with Pushkar Ojha...

The film is well-edited, so it stays the upgrade and never feels stretched. The cinematography is just good to see in fact the visuals are really splendid and makes the film lots of razzle and dazzle. The audio is crystal clear...

The movie much relies on Siddharth Malhotra's character leaves other cast members feeling underutilized and lacking in significance. The lack of weight given to supporting characters detracts from the overall impact of the story... Despite its flaws, "Yodha" manages to redeem itself with a climactic finale that delivers on both action and emotion. Overall, while the film offers moments of excitement and thrills, its rushed narrative and lack of depth prevent it from reaching its full potential...

Overall a pucca commercial package that keeps you entertained & worthy of every bit of time or either money spent on it...

Non-stop Action but story is too predictable.
ajintvarghese129 April 2024
Yodha is a action movie based on a task force starring Siddharth Malhotra, Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani, movie is filled with action sequences, particularly those set within the claustrophobic confines of a hijacked plane. Siddharth Malhotra delivers a committed performance as the ostracized soldier, Arun, fueled by a thirst for redemption. The fight choreography is inventive, utilizing the plane's unique environment to its advantage.

However, the film falters when it attempts a complex narrative. The revenge plot against the system feels muddled. Despite the efforts of the cast, some character motivations remain unconvincing. Overall, Yodha is a crowd-pleaser for fans of action cinema. It's a visually stunning film with a captivating central performance. But for those seeking a more nuanced story, Yodha might not be a good choice.

Siddharth's High-octane actioner is let down by predictable plot , melodramatic climax and weak VFX
ritesh65716 March 2024
"Siddharth Malhotra's 'Yodha' presents a blend of well-choreographed action sequences and skillful hand-to-hand combat, showcasing his prowess in physical performance. However, the VFX falls short, appearing choppy and lacking finesse. The film's 130-minute runtime maintains a decent pace, yet the screenplay stumbles towards the end, descending into familiar India-Pakistan tensions and melodrama. While the concept shows promise on paper, the execution falters with clichéd dialogues and an overly dramatic climax, reminiscent of various Hollywood action films. Raashi Khanna shines with her beauty, though Siddharth Malhotra's acting and Disha Patani's presence leave room for improvement. The film's early Buy1Get1 offer on its second day hints at a lukewarm reception. Despite its flaws, 'Yodha' offers moments of entertainment, especially for fans of action-packed cinema. For those interested, waiting for its release on Prime Video might be a more prudent choice to experience this blend of action and drama."

Yodha' has a fair amount of exciting moments and twists and turns to keep you engaged.
myselfvivekkumar-9220715 March 2024
Outstanding movie great action scene or thiller and suspense super Siddharth was looking fabulous and great acting by Siddharth malhotra (sic)," Yodha is the best ever hijack based patriotic film of Indian cinema. Sidharth Malhotra has given yet another phenomenal film to Indian cinema like Shershaah.

The story unfolds with Arun Katyal, a proud son determined to carry on the legacy of his father's (Ronit Roy) special task force, Yodha. However, after failing at a critical mission, he is on board a hijacked flight under mysterious circumstances. All evidence points to him being on a revenge mission against the system that has taken everything from him. Is Arun a 'desh ka dushman,' or the patriot like his father was? It all unravels in an action-packed thriller at 15,000 feet above the ground.

The climax should have been better!
SoumikBanerjee199628 April 2024
The storytelling is on-point, wasting no time on trivial matters. The screenplay keeps things interesting with well-executed action and deftly built anticipation that enhances the quality of the narration.

Additionally, I was enthralled by the writing's ability to consistently shock and surprise with its bag full of twists and turns.

That said, climax fell short, lacking the sophistication that was required. Not to mention logical fallacies and loopholes, which further diminishes the final impact.

On a side note, Siddharth Malhotra delivers, especially in action sequences, although he struggles to convey the same while acting in challenging scenes.

On the other end, Raashi Khanna's performance is fine, but it is Disha Patani who shines the most, proving that even performers who are often typecast can break free from their limitations with proper guidance and vision.

every action look like pre-planned.
mulla-1265621 March 2024
Where is court marshal for army officer. Who is team leader - not explained well. Every time Arun (SID) becoming hero but we want see team work. How army actually work- How YODHA team works we want to see.

NO TEAM WORK - ONLY ONE MAN SHOW -NAMED YODHA TEAM it is not a agent movie - its a army based film.

ACTIONS ARE PRE-PLANNED- AS TERRORIST NOT USING GUN IN PLANE FIGHT SEEN.

Songs are good. Choreography is also good.

Not at all recommend..The more one sees the main characters, the less appealing they become. A dumb movie. For the most part, things simply jump out and go 'boo!'" . I was not surprised by the film's final twist, I just thought I was watching a bad movie. Left the movie in between.

Missed Flight to Entertainment
priyankpassey26 March 2024
Watched 'Yodha' in the theatres and the film didn't quite take off for me. Now, I know it's not fair to compare every film of the lead to 'Shershaah' but this one? It should've stayed cozy on OTT, for it didn't give any big screen vibes.

The dubbing was horrendous! It was like watching a badly synced lip-sync battle. Seriously, there were more dubbing blunders than scenes worth remembering. One wouldn't expect this from a Dharma Productions film.

And the natural vibes? Nowhere to be found! Sidharth Malhotra's acting felt more forced than my morning yoga routine, and don't even get me started on his chemistry with Raashi Khanna. Zero sparks in there, as their flight didn't take off either!

Talking about the lead actresses, Raashi and Disha Patani, they seemed completely out of sync with the rest of the movie, like wearing flip-flops to a formal event. Let's be real, a seasoned actress could have done Raashi's role way better.

Action sequences? Dull. Original music? None. Good background score? Not a chance. They even messed up a hit Punjabi song like 'Qismat' and Sidharth tried his best to 'act' in every scene, but it felt about as natural as a cat wearing sunglasses.

Now, let's also give credit where it's due. There were a solid 20 minutes in the 2nd half where I was kinda hooked. But the rest? Abrupt start, expected ending, and a whole lot of mediocrity in between.

Save yourself the time and money, 'Yodha' might not have pulled off a plane hijack successfully, but it sure hijacked my mind into watching a downright not so great film for at the end of it I walked out feeling like a 'Gadha'!

Discombobulating, discordant, dissonant...
kalam110416 March 2024
Not sure what the director and script writer were aiming for but the movie is all over the place (and not in a good way). It tries to have a three part flair to it a la Speed (building, bus, train) with an initial terrorist scene, a middle terrorist scene, and an end reprise scene but it completely whiffs in creating any magic or sense throughout the movie. The action sequences are sprinkled heavily throughout the cinematic and out is really a poor use of the talent like Sidharth and Disha on screen. I would have to say really poorly made with really no meaningful beginning or end (and no middle to speak of as well).

A Riveting Tale of Bravery and Strategy
yashhraaj22 March 2024
In the realm of action thrillers, "Yodha" (2024) emerges as a standout, redefining the boundaries of the genre with its exhilarating narrative and stellar performances. Directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, and produced by the venerable Dharma Productions, this film is not just a cinematic experience but a celebration of valor and ingenuity.

Sidharth Malhotra, in the lead role, embodies the quintessential action hero with unmatched fervor and finesse. His portrayal of a soldier on a mission to save a hijacked plane and its passengers is both compelling and convincing, proving his mettle as a formidable force in the action genre. Alongside Malhotra, the film boasts of a talented ensemble, including Raashii Khanna, whose performance adds depth to the high-octane drama.

A particularly surprising element of "Yodha" is the character played by Disha Patani. Though her role may be brief, Patani leaves a lasting impact with a character that defies expectations and a fight sequence that showcases her as a formidable opponent. This unexpected turn not only enriches the narrative but also highlights Patani's versatility and skill in action sequences, adding an extra layer of intrigue and excitement to the story.

The pacing of "Yodha" is unrelentingly fast, ensuring that viewers remain hooked from start to finish. The film skillfully balances action-packed sequences with strategic plot developments, maintaining a seamless flow that captivates and entertains. Critics might argue that the film ventures into the realm of implausibility, prioritizing spectacle over logic. However, it is this very commitment to providing unabashed entertainment that solidifies "Yodha" as a quintessential action thriller.

The direction, storytelling, and cinematography are executed with precision, creating a visually stunning backdrop for the unfolding drama. The meticulous editing further enhances the narrative, ensuring a cohesive and immersive viewing experience.

Some critics of the film have labeled it as an exercise in illogical, chest-thumping storytelling designed to appease the audience. Yet, it is precisely this unapologetic embrace of its genre that defines "Yodha" as a standout piece of entertainment. It revels in its ability to deliver a spectacle of excitement and thrill, fully aware of its role as a cinematic escape.

In essence, "Yodha" is a film that celebrates the indomitable spirit of its heroes. It is a testament to the power of cinema to transport audiences into a world of adventure and heroism. For fans of Sidharth Malhotra and those who relish an action-packed narrative with surprising twists, "Yodha" is an unmissable film that promises not just thrills but a profound exploration of strategy and survival against the odds.

Low IQ movie who can even think of making such type of cringy movie. It is best suited for second or third class or uneducated people. Some directors are making movies just for money and capitalising on the human emotions of nationalism however everything seems Hollow in this movie.
