Beyond the surface

In this episode, we dive deep into the complexities of the characters and the day to day life, not the same pace as the first episode but definitely as good.

I can see the plot drawing itself from here now on and thickening even more and the subplots being more and more interesting. Though, tell now, i can't connect the VR with the alien thing, maybe in the next episodes we will connect the two worlds, who knows!

And as i said, as the main plot unfolds we can see the world build-up on the events of the first episode. Yet, we need more as its an hour long episode.

For now, we're left waiting for the next twist to reveal itself as im sure mid-season episode will be better than all before it!

I worried that this was going to go way over my head, but I was able to follow and understand it, and more importantly, it translated really well from the book.

Episode one was very much a grand affair, setting out the basic plot and giving us an idea of the scale of the series, this second episode, though it does develop the plot, is more an in depth look into the characters.

I spoke to some friends earlier, who said they quit at this point, as they couldn't get through the gaming angle, it's a real shame, I'm not a gamer, but this really did appeal to me.

I just love that we've been given a show that is making us think and concentrate, it's more complex and deeper than anything I've seen for some time.

The visuals are extraordinary.

Next level..... can't wait.

8/10.

Magic box strikes again
nakrugt23 March 2024
Yep, J. J. Abrams' magic box strikes again in this episode. Throughout the whole episode - approximately one full hour - nothing worth mentioning happens, and the last sixty seconds (literally), we are shown something remotely interesting.

By the way, the opening them of the show is an obvious rip-off of season one opening theme and music of "Westworld". I am sure anyone who watched the first season of "Westworld" will notice that.

Other than that, a complete snore fest. Characters are so blank and so blah you can hardly stay awake watching this excuse of a TV show.

Before I forget, there are some subtle "references" to lately recent events prior to the development of this show, which are now in scrutiny today.

How time affects our perception, right?
