Trust Malayalam cinema to give the audience some heartfelt slice-of-life films from the rural parts of the state and create an engaging narrative. There are plenty of examples from the industry that could fit the bill. Padmini is one such film, and writer Deepu Pradeep and director Senna Hedge have given us a humorous satire on how society generally is and how it treats us.
Spoilers Ahead
What Happens In The Film?
The opening credits of Padmini must be one of the most creative ways to introduce Rameshan. As the scene rolls out only on voiceovers, the viewers hear almost every family member, neighbor, and friend of his talk about the wedding day, his bride, her family, and the food served, followed by their trivial questions, which are usually passed off as small talk. The makers aptly represented what exactly happens at Kerala weddings, and viewers get the feeling of attending one vicariously.

Chennai, July 15 (Ians) The producer of ‘Padmini’, Suvin Varkey, has come out strongly against Malayalam actor Kunchako Boban for not participating in the promotion of the movie.
In a statement, Suvin Varkey said “Thank you all for embracing Padmini To Your Hearts. We are overwhemled with all the positive responses and reviews.”
Varkey, however, said that there were a few things to answer in response to the questions asked about the lack of promotion of the movie.
The producer said that ‘Padmini’ was a profitable affair for them, adding that whatever the Box Officer numbers are, the film was profitable.
He also thanked the production team of Senna, Sreeraj and the entire crew which wrapped up the movie seven days ahead of its schedule.

The producer of the Malayalam film Padmini, Suvin K. Varkey, has taken to social media to slam lead actor Kunchacko Boban for his lack of cooperation in promoting the film.
In a series of tweets, Varkey accused Boban of taking home 2.5 crores for his role in the film, but refusing to participate in any promotional activities. Varkey said that the entire promotion plan for the film was rejected by Boban’s wife, who had appointed a marketing consultant to review the film. The consultant reportedly made a verdict after watching the raw footage of the film, and decided that it was not worth promoting.

Padmini is a Malayalam comedy-drama film directed by Senna Hegde and written by Deepu Pradeep. The film stars Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian, and Vincy Aloshious.
Padmini is a film that is both funny and heartwarming, but it is also a bit of a mess. The film’s humor is sharp and witty, and the performances are all top-notch. Kunchacko Boban is particularly good as Ramesh, and he brings a lot of heart to the role. Aparna Balamurali, Madonna Sebastian and especially Vincy are also excellent, and they have great chemistry together. However, the film’s plot is a bit convoluted, and the film have no logic and unbelievable at times. Additionally, some of the film’s humor is a bit crude. The film also suffers from some major miscasting.
