Having mesmerized one and all on the big screen film-maker and acclaimed director Pradeep Sarkar will make his directorial debut with ALTBalaji's upcoming web series ?Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala?. He has been very well received for his direction in path-breaking films like Parineeta, Mardaani, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Lafangey Parindey and most recently, Helicopter Eela. Playing the lead role in the show is the very talented duo of Divyanka Tripathi and Rajeev Khandelwal.
Speaking on his most recent directorial venture, Pradeep Sarkar said, ?I think web series gives the liberty of exploring interesting and exciting concepts. Telling a new story has always excited me. I decided to take up Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala because of human relationships and conflicts in the backdrop of gourmet cooking. What really stood out on set was the fine acting prowess shown by Divyanka and Rajeev, that also allowed them to contribute to the storytelling process.

Four Indian film directors, Mahesh Manjrekar, Pradeep Sarkar, Priyadarshan and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who have each won the National Award, have joined forces to shoot “Invisible Masks.” The adaptation of four short stories, the film tackles homosexuality, mental illness, people leading double lives, and other hot button social issues in India.
The film is a portmanteau, without connecting or recurring elements, and is currently in advanced post-production. Each of the directors developed and produced their own section independently.
The overall film is produced and financed by Venus Worldwide Entertainment, and partly-financed by Armaan Ventures. A major Ott platform is expected to give the completed work a release in India and elsewhere, without recourse to festival or theatrical outings. Suchhanda Chatterjee is set as the co-producer.

Aazaan is an upcoming thriller based around biological warfare, starring newcomers Sachiin Joshi and Candice Boucher in what has already been labelled the most expensive Bollywood film ever made. But what about the soundtrack? Have they gone over the top with that too?
Fortunately, no.
The Aazaan soundtrack is short and sweet – four original tracks, a theme instrumental, and 4 remixes. Brother composers Salim-Sulaiman are at the helm for this one, and have done a fantastic job of creating a lovely, melodic, coherent album that can stand apart from the film.
Afreen opens the album and sets the tone – and what a tone! A plaintively beautiful melody is accented sparingly with an array of instrumentation: Spanish guitars, shimmering electronic flourishes, violins, piano. What really shines is the yearning vocal track from Salim Merchant. The tempo of this track almost makes it sound poppy, but it has a beautiful melancholy to it.

Deepika Padukone exploded on the scene in 2007 with her debut in 'Om Shanti Om,' playing opposite Shahrukh Khan. She then appeared in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' (2008) with Ranbir Kapoor (with whom she was once romantically involved, and his initials are still tattooed on her neck), the bomb 'Chandni Chowk to China' (2009) opposite Akshay Kumar, and the hit 'Love Aaj Kal' (2009) alongside Saif Ali Khan. She starred in five films in 2010—'Karthik Calling Karthik,' 'Housefull,' 'Lafangey Parindey,' 'Break Ke Baad,' 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey'—with mixed results. She was born in Denmark to Indian parents. Her father is a famous badminton player, and in her teens, Deepika was a tough competitor in the sport, which she gave up for a career in modeling and acting.
