The season's stakes are established with tension and humor
Not as good as the stellar run that precedes it, 'Veterans' focuses almost entirely on the Crowder/Givens friction in Harlan. Raylan uses everything he can find to get at Boyd, including deputizing Dewey for information (whose almost sweet stupidity is always entertaining). Bo sets to getting his operation back up and running after his time in prison as well as squaring things with Arlo, who nearly drove the protection racket into the ground in his absence. A highlight is Arlo and Bo, griping about their respective sons and all the trouble they've caused.
Boyd, for his part, is till doing the church camp thing, while gunning up for his big move against the meth trade.
Not bad at all, but the storytelling seemed very systematic.
7/10
