Culture Club frontman Boy George is to be the subject of a feature film, which appears to be back in development. More here.
George Alan O’Dowd, better known as Boy George, shot to fame in the 1980s as the flamboyant lead singer of Culture Club (website pictured), co-writing six albums which spawned hits like Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me. He went on to have a successful solo career, and has sold over 100 million records. He recently headlined the Broadway production Moulin Rouge! The Musical
According to Deadline, a biopic is in development. Or more to the point, back in development. It was all the way back in 2019 that this particular project first surfaced.
The screenplay will be written by Jc Lee, adapted from George’s autobiographies Take It Like A Man, Straight and Karma. It will be produced by Oscar winning producer Cathy Schulman, George’s manager Paul Kemsley,...

This article contains spoilers for "Fire & Blood" and this week's episode of "House of the Dragon."
Given the many surprises in the latest "House of the Dragon" episode, it's easy to overlook the sudden arrival of Alicent's brother, Ser Gwayne Hightower (Freddie Fox). He shows up to accompany Ser Criston Cole on his way to Harrenhaal, even though Cole clearly doesn't want him there. Luckily, Gwayne's arrogant, summer child ways are quickly snuffed out of him by the threat of a dragon attack up above, which Cole averts by having them ride into a nearby forest. Gwayne tells Cole he's in his debt, implying a more friendly relationship between the two in the episodes to come.
It might seem weird for this barely-mentioned-before brother of Alicent to so suddenly get all this screentime, but in light of all the complicated family trees on "House of the Dragon," we should probably...

Helen Fielding this year released the long-awaited third Bridget Jones novel, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.
Reviews were mixed, but many saluted her bravery in killing off the beloved Mark Darcy and replacing him in Bridget's affections with a new toyboy, Roxster.
That there will be a third Bridget Jones movie seems inevitable, but who will play Roxby McDuff?
The novel naturally gives an idealised, Jonesy-eyed view of the young man - but in a world where Colin Firth plays Mark Darcy, it's only right that Digital Spy takes Bridget's word for it when picking out the perfect star.
What does he look like?
"Roxster was indeed gorgeous, was even more handsome than his photo, but, crucially, merry-looking. He looks as if he was going to burst out laughing all the time."He is 29... "handsome"... with a "a slight gap between his front teeth" and "impressive, young physique...

Douglas Booth landed on the radar thanks to his impressive turns as Boy George in Worried About the Boy and Pip in Great Expectations, but this week he heads to the big screen to play Romeo in the Julian Fellowes-scripted Romeo and Juliet.
Digital Spy sat down with the fast-rising star to discuss working with Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld and the pressures of following in the footsteps of Leonardo DiCaprio.
"You have to throw that baggage out the window at the beginning," Booth said in reference to the previous actors who have portrayed William Shakespeare's doomed Montague.
"You can't think about the other people that've played it. Me and Hailee were closest in age to the play than has ever been done on screen before - she was 15 and I was 19.

There may be no official secret to success in the music industry, but if the ongoing stream of biopics is to be believed, there's a pretty sure pattern: develop a serious drug habit, have a testy relationship with your father, and have at least one popular song that reflects your life story that could be played over closing credits. Worried About The Boy doesn't do anything to break that trend, but it's not an especially poor example of it, at least for television.

Before today, we knew Lol as the movie starring Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus that had to have a pot-smoking scene removed because of Miley’s salvia incident. Now, a trailer of the pic is out, and it looks like a standard-issue teenage rebellion movie. Except for the fact that it stars Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore. And also, this: Douglas Booth.
Because, wow. Those cheekbones. Those lips. We are seriously looking forward to when Masterpiece airs Great Expectations this spring (he’s Pip to Gillian Anderson’s Miss Havisham), and we might have to check out the Starz Pillars of the Earth miniseries. And here’s an interesting way to get your start as a heartthrob: the 20-year-old model-turned-actor played Boy George in the TV-movie Worried About the Boy.

You could spend a lifetime gazing at pictures of Douglas Booth, so the Observer fashion team cast him as Dorian Gray, the man who sold his soul to remain gorgeous. Is this 19-year-old actor the most beautiful boy in the world?
You're disgustingly good looking," I say. I can't help it. It's been on the tip of my tongue, like a complimentary ulcer, ever since I sat down opposite Douglas Booth, here, on a sofa, at a London hotel of his choice. He looks like naive art. He looks like an Elizabeth Peyton painting. I've actually interrupted him. He was in the middle of telling me about his worst nightmare – being leched at in a nightclub. "But you're ridiculously handsome. Look at you," I screech. Somebody looks up from their tea. Booth, to his credit, grimaces. Even with his mouth twisted, though, he looks beautiful. I grind my teeth to stop more praise falling out.

Gillian Anderson, best known for playing Agent Scully in The X Files, has been unveiled as the new face of Charles Dickens' tormented Miss Havisham, in the BBC's festive adaptation of Great Expectations.
The American actress looks every bit the jilted bride imagined in the Victorian classic, but her performance is sure to be measured against that of Helena Bonham Carter, who is playing the same character in a production to be released next year to coincide with Dickens' 200th anniversary.
The 43-year-old may be best known for her dealings with the supernatural, but she's also previously proven she can do period drama, having been nominated for BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe awards for her role as Lady Dedlock in the BBC adaptation of Bleak House in 2005.
The production also stars Ray Winstone as the dastardly Abel Magwitch, David Suchet as Miss Havisham's lawyer, Mr Jaggers, and Douglas Booth...

It’s finally sunny here in London! The mercury is on its way to 28 (centigrade of course) and I’m sitting in my garden, listening to soon-to-be-defunct BBC Radio 6 music (which makes me sad). The documentary featured Gareth’s coming out party attended by Dr. Christian Jessen of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, and singer Will Young, presenting partners Colin and Justin. Please note, I feel very resentful of that as I didn’t have a comin gout party.
