"Hasta La Vista" is a Spanish greeting. A way of saying "see you later". In the movie, however, John Connor (Edward Furlong) claims the phrase is the equivalent of "Get lose". Which is not the original Hispanic meaning.
Although the imperative 'Get lose' is not the original meaning of 'Hasta La Vista', due to the movie, the meaning of the phrase has someone been altered in Spanish, specially when people mimic the terminator. In other words, 'Hasta La Vista' can have both meanings in Spanish. It can be a greeting and also the terminator's mimic.
Some people interpret "Hasta la vista, baby" as "Die!".
