Ajay Devgn’s Score Card Of Box Office Clashes. (Photo Credit – Instagram/IMDb)
Ajay Devgn might be coronated as the King of clashes. The actor, who has been enjoying good word of mouth with his latest release, Shaitaan, is gearing up for a huge clash with Akshay Kumar on Eid with his film Maidaan, where he will take on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. While the battle seems to be very interesting, this will not be the first time Ajay will lock horns with another superstar.
Recently, he opened up about the clash and mentioned that he wishes for both films to do well. In fact, last year, Gadar 2 and Omg 2’s clash proved that two good films can survive. In fact, Ajay’s clashing history also proves the same.
In the last 15 years, the actor has faced a lot of clashes, and the results have been surprising. While he definitely leads the scorecard,...

The Sanjay Dutt starrer Knock Out which was locked in a copyright battle with 20th Century Fox has suffered a serious blow with the High Court ruling in favour of 20th Century Fox, thereby putting Mani Shankar into a position of deep embarrassment at a time when he has just completed a very successful stint with Gujarat's chief minister Narendra Modi in using the holograph 3D technique to project Modi's life-like image on stage in several cities of Gujarat simultaneously during the recent election campaigning. So impressed is Narendra Modi by Mani Shankar's technological panache that the Gujarat Cm tweeted, "Gujarat Election Campaign 2012 becomes even more memorable with the 3D interaction creating a Guinness World Record." Says Mani Shankar, "In truth those were the most challenging 14 days of my life with a 1200-men team spread over 53 locations. Over 100 checklists had to be got right in each location, a fresh crisis every hour,...

Filmmaker Mani Shankar's plans of a feature film on L K Advani are pending mainly because of the director's inability to find the correct actor for the part. So, for now, Mani has opted for the next best alternative. He is all set to make a documentary on the Bjp leader who, in many ways, defines the fast-evaporating breed of self-disciplined politicians. The documentary will be based on the footage that Mani will shoot for a week with Advani beginning on 7 November which is the eve of Advani's 85th birthday. Mani says, he will 'Blend into the fabric of the Advani household to see how the patriarch lives, eats, interacts with family friends admirers and colleagues.' All this, with only a skeletal crew. Says Mani, "If I have crew members sauntering all over the house the spontaneity of the endeavour would be lost. I don't want the rhythm...

Mumbai, Aug 15: Sanjay Dutt was last seen in “Double Dhamaal” released this year. And now he is busy shooting for his forthcoming film to be released soon, “Chatur Singh Two Star”. Ameesha Patel is casted opposite Sanju Baba in this film.
Sanjay makes it very clear, he would only be parts of those films, which entertain the masses and not any other kind of films, which is going to enlighten the people’s mind. Sanju says though he had acted in films of other niche like “Lamhe” and “Knock Out”, but being in the industry for such a long time, he knows, audience don’t like those films as much.

The biggest chartbuster of the year came from the the low profile Lalit Pandit whose Munni badnaam hui instantly joined the ranks of the ritiziest item songs in Bollywood, on a par with Kajra re and Beedi jalay le.It also catapulted the sizzling Malaika Arora to dizzying heights of glory. October 18, 2010: The much talked-about item song in Mani Shankar’s Knock Out has been knocked out of film just days before its release. Touted as the next ‘Munni Badnaam’ in the charts, the number was shot recently by the film’s producers and apparently without the director’s consent. On hearing about the embellishment, director Mani Shankar was horrified.
Says a source, “Mani immediately got in touch with his producer Sohail Makhlai asking why material was added to the film without his consent. Sohail tried to explain to him that it was to enhance the massy element. Mani had no choice but to allow the song to be shot. But when he incorporated it into the film, he immediately felt it was not working..

Ajay Devgn-Akshaye Khanna starrer flick ‘Aakrosh’, which was based on the topical subject of honor killing and opened this Friday, could not attract the attention of audiences and its occupancy rate on the first day did not cross even forty percent. Movie Review: Knock Out; Director: Mani Shankar; Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Irrfan Khan, Kangna Ranaut, Sushant Singh; Rating: *** – thriller with a conscience.
“Phone Booth” be damned. “Knock Out” goes into places that the supposed source of inspiration can’t even dream about. Forget what you’ve heard, forget the flak and fury about copyrights. Go see “Knock Out” for the engaging edge-of-the-seat treatment that writer-director Mani Shankar has given to the collectively comatose conscience.

An old joke about Indian politicians goes that a corrupt politician isn’t one who takes bribes.
He is one who takes bribes and still doesn’t get the work done. After watching Knock Out, I thought we should apply this to filmmakers also: so a mediocre filmmaker isn’t one who steals blatantly. He is one who steals blatantly and still can’t come up with a half decent film.
In Knock Out, writer-director Mani Shankar takes the 2003 thriller Phone Booth and marries it with a plot about.
