We've waited 5 years for this movie to release. Finally it's there and although Angela Robinson and more of the crew and cast did not agree on it's release I'm very happy it's finally there. The movie is a prequel on the web series in which we follow the lives of Tyler Murphy and Daisy Robson.

In my opinion this not the best movie, technically speaking. Sound is often low quality, for example a lot of ambiance in one shot and in a reaction shot there is none. Another example is distortion. (which is also audible in the trailer) Another example is that is too obvious that they are on a set. More color correction is sometimes very hard needed.

The songs are catchy, but has its ups and downs. Not everything rhymes which could be annoying. But like I said the songs are catchy and in general great.

There are more things to get detailed on, but despite the bad parts in this movie the one and a half hour fly by. It's funny and I love to see the two South of Nowhere stars to play together in a different movie playing different characters.

But once again, it's definitely worth it to see this lesbian drama musical.

This was a fun watch
cbisbee-739956 November 2020
When I first started to watch this movie it broke into song and I thought, "Not a musical, please." I wasn't in the mood for a musical, I just wanted to watch an enjoyable movie and not have to think to hard. I gave it a second chance because it sounded interesting. I'm glad I did.

The musical aspect actually adds to this movie and does not detract, as many musicals can do. The songs add to the dialogue and story. This is a story about a band wanting to play at a show and create some buzz for themselves. It is also about how they get to that show in the first place. Many adventures try to thwart that end result.

This could have been titled 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun', but that title was already taken. These girls do indeed have fun and a whole lot more. I enjoyed being a part of their adventures and had a fun watch. I think sometime in the future I will watch again just to have an evening of fun and hi-jinks. Girls just wanna sing songs.

A really fun movie that unfortunately not going to find the audience it deserves.

It's called "Girltrash" and if that's not something you find interesting then you're probably not going to enjoy it. This movie is fairly low budget but it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. I found it entertaining, heart felt and just plain fun.

The songs are pretty good, the acting is perfect in tone. The characters are all interesting and pacing is excellent. It's low budget, it's not 'slick', but it's damned likable.

I have to agree with another reviewer that whoever recorded the sound or did the sound editing really let the side down. It doesn't ruin the film but the sound mixing is pretty amateur in comparison to the rest of the production. And whoever held the boom needs to learn to point it away from the road.

My only problem now is finding other movies like this - perfect late night movies. Movies that aren't afraid to just be entertaining. I have no idea who the intended audience of this movie is but I loved it. I guess you'd label it as 'guilty pleasure' but it's better than that. It's a movie I'd be proud to support yet I wouldn't expect anyone to understand my love of it. I just hope more people find this movie. It deserves to be a cult hit.

Anoyying Overlong Musical Lesbian Love Story
FilmMan4718 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
the title says it right this film is called girl trash what more can you expect there are musical scenes in this film but then it switches the genre in between if it stayed on one it might have been better but potential wasted here the makers were not sure on what they wanted they tried to create a mixture & that's where it went wrong as for the lesbian love story angle there is pointless dialogs & random girls jumping on each other for fake sex.

the plot:five girls spend the night having fun with music, love, sex, fighting & confronting fears with each other.

the cast:this huge cast filled with beautiful women don't have much to do as script does not allow them the characters are way off balance the actors do their best here.

there are many comic moments that one can enjoy but it will become boring if you watch the film the second time, the editing need at many places left alone in the studio.

overall Girltrash:All Night Long 2014 is a dull effort from the team if you like some nice girls then do watch this otherwise stay away,my rating is 3/10.

Oddly awesome...

OK, so to be truthful, i only started watching this movie because i saw Erin Kelly is in it (love Loving Annabelle). Little did i know she was in the beginning for like a minute. Oh well. The thing is, i forgot it was a musical until they started singing. And then i wanted to keep watching. At times it is admittedly painful to watch, bad lip syncing, daisy's voice for her "musical" numbers don't really fit her natural voice. Tho at the end i was impressed with the bands final number bc you can believe its really her. Easily my favorite song. I thought the acting was good, the songs were mostly great, tho sometimes a little weird. Heres why i like this movie so much tho. It made me smile and laugh out loud. Monique Jones is a hilariously bad over the top bad guy/gal. This movie is not serious at all, nor do i think it tries to be. Its just fun to watch.

Bad, but in a really really good way
kaliheraj11 September 2020
This movie is in the same vein as DEBS or But I'm A Cheerleader. If you don't like them you really won't like them, but if you do like them you LOVE them. I loved Girltrash. at some moments the lip syncing was off and the sound could have been better but i'm not a movie production expert so it really didn't bother me. Overall though, the script and acting were good and the songs were much catchier than i had expected.

definitely not brilliant cinema, but absolutely perfect if you just want to have fun and not think for an hour and a half :)

Okay, this is a whole lot of cheesy fun.

Heretofore I've never come across the web series for which this is a prequel, but if 'All night long' is any indication of what to expect, I definitely want to watch it now. This is a delightful mashup of the "one crazy night" comedy with the more raucous side of romcoms, twisted together as a musical, all with a strictly lesbian angle. There's no mistaking that the amalgamation is at varying points over the top, kitschy, and/or cliched, but so it goes with any titles playing in the same spaces. It's also a little too self-restrained for its own good; this could probably be rated PG-13. Yet at the same time, there's welcome earnestness underpinning the writing such that even at its most bombastic or gauche moments the title feels strongly balanced. Much more so than not it's highly entertaining, and well made in every regard; I had a great time watching!

The songs are wonderfully catchy in terms of their melody and structure, but also where the lyrics are concerned. The whole cast are swell, demonstrating excellent range as both singers and actors; I immediately wish to find more projects that they have all been involved with. Importantly both Angela Robinson's writing and Alexandra Kondracke's direction are sharp and smart, orchestrating excellent and engaging scenes that carry a variety of moods while advancing an enjoyable, satisfying story. Then, too, the contributions of all those behind the scenes are splendid, including lovely costume design and hair and makeup work, terrific cinematography and editing, and even some especially keen employment of lighting. All in all I really think 'Girltrash' is pretty great!

As much fun as I had watching, I will say that it's not necessarily the most grabbing and essential movie you could watch; especially when tropes are deployed, there are a handful of instances where a scene lags ever so slightly. While I don't for one moment think it was intentional, there's also a question of how much antagonistic character Monique is built on an ugly stereotype. Still, while these are facets to keep in mind, they aren't so critical of weaknesses to majorly dampen the entertainment value. It's a little silly, sure, and discretely aimed toward a sapphic audience, but by all means I think 'All night long' is a feature that anyone could appreciate. The music is fantastic, the cast is capable and charming, the writing and direction match the skill level of all those in the crew - far and away, this is a blast. I can understand how the many flavors here won't necessarily appeal to everyone, but for my money 'Girltrash' is well worth watching if you have the chance!
