Some of you will recognize the new face on Law &Order, if you were ever a fan of Fox’s drama “Prison Break” back in the day, then you will recognize Dean Norris. You might also recognize him from other roles such as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Uncle Daddy in Claws, and “Big Jim” Rennie on the CBS series “Under the Dome” The actor has been in nearly 50 movies and over 100 different TV shows.
Law And Order Spoilers – Family Tension?
In Law & Order, he portrays Randall Stabler, brother to Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and will be a series regular on the fifth season premiering on Peacock.
Apparently, his character is returning in order to help take care of their Mom, Bernadette, portrayed by Ellen Burstyn. What is the drama between these two? It goes way back an incident involving their Father years prior, though right now we don’t know what that is.

There have been Stephen King movies for almost as long as there have been Stephen King books. King's first novel "Carrie" arrived in 1974, and by 1976, a "Carrie" movie was burning up movie screens. King was still relatively obscure at the time, but as his publishing career continued, he became a household name. He also became a recognizable figure, thanks to public appearances on talk shows, TV commercials, and of course, cameos in movies. King's very first cameo appearance was in George A. Romero's "Knightriders," a movie about a ren faire where people joust on motorcycles instead of horses. In that film, King plays a character named Hoagie Man, who can be seen eating a hoagie in a rather disgusting fashion.
After that, King had a surprisingly large role in Romero's horror anthology film "Creepshow," which King wrote the screenplay for. There, he plays Jordy Verrill, a hick farmer who...

Ross had already stepped back from day to day duties, ceding that role to John Halley, who was named president of ad sales for the company in 2022. But her relationships with key sponsors were seen as valuable, as were the ties many of her senior executives had with media agencies and marketing executives. Linda Rene once proved instrumental in weaving blue-chip advertisers like Anheuser-Busch and General Motors into a fledgling CBS reality competition called “Survivor.” Two decades later, she is planning to get off the island.
Rene, an advertising-sales veteran who has worked at CBS for more than four decades, helped expand an industry practice known as product placement and was pivotal in crafting new deals that not only had advertisers providing vehicles and beverages as set dressing, but weaving their products into a show in ways that made them as prominent as some of the cast members. Marketers were able to cut deals with CBS that guaranteed them a notable presence in programs such as “The Amazing Race” or “NCIS,” while agreeing to buy up traditional commercials in the series that bolstered their in-show appearances.

One of Stephen King’s best — and bleakest — tales of horror has a new beginning with “Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.” Directed and co-written by Lindsey Anderson Beer (”Sierra Burgess Is a Loser”), the prequel heads back long before the Creeds came to town and follows Jud Crandall (Jackson White) as a young man in Ludlow, Maine, where ancient evil lurks and a corrupted patch of land holds the power to bring back the dead. But of course sometimes dead is better, and “Bloodlines” tells the story of exactly how Jud learned that hard lesson the first time.
The film also has a starry cast, including David Duchovny, Henry Thomas and the legendary Pam Grier. But despite what you might expect for a King adaptation with that pedigree, “Bloodlines” is a streaming exclusive and isn’t heading to theaters, which means you can watch the new “Pet Sematary” movie at home right now.

‘Under the Dome’ TV Series Tries to Be ‘Lost’, Forgets to Be Stephen King [The Losers’ Club Podcast]
Ten years ago, CBS hit it big with its series adaptation of Stephen King‘s Under the Dome. The show arrived on June 24, 2013, shattering records to become the most watched summer drama premiere on any television network since 1992. It was a genuine summer event, and then, well, three years later it was all over. Since then, it’s retreated into obsolescence and even King, who was a producer, has called for a remake on Netflix.
So, what happened?
That’s a question The Losers’ Club tries to answer on today’s episode. After three episodes dedicated to the 2009 novel, the Losers return to Chester’s Mill to put a lens on the series’ three seasons. Together, Michael Roffman, Ana Marie Cox, Ashley Casseday, and Jenn Adams discuss the production history, the cast, the translation from page to screen, the elasticity of the premise, and all the wild, wild arcs that...

On August 27, 1993, Rob Reiner’s Castle Rock Entertainment continued its expansion into Stephen King’s works with Needful Things. Directed by Fraser C. Heston, the star-studded affair arrived only two years after King published the expansive novel. Screenwriter W.D. Richter took on the Herculean task of adapting the 700 page novel, and what came to fruition is a film as tonally curious as the source material: It’s funny, it’s unsettling, it’s violent, it’s perverse. Simply put, it’s the kind of movie we just don’t get anymore.
For that reason alone, Needful Things has aged quite well. Yet it’s also a great lookin’ film. Heston shoots the hell out of this picture, capitalizing on the crisp Fall foliage across British Columbia, doubling here for King’s fictional Castle Rock, Maine. Because of this, the film looks like a Stephen King novel reads, a key facet...

Coben has only written one series for the young adult audience, the Mickey Bolitar series that began with Shelter, and Harlan Coben's Shelter premieres Friday, August 18, on Prime Video.
Executive producer and director Ed Ornelas joined TV Fanatic on a Zoom call this week to discuss the series, and his passion for the project was infectious.
I have not read the books, but I can attest to the story as it unfolds in the new series. It begins with Mickey Bolitar losing his father in a fatal accident and his mother spending months in rehab.
In the wake of the accident, Mickey (Jaden Michael) lives with his aunt, Shira (Constance Zimmer), where he meets Ema (Abby Corrigan) and Spoon (Adrian Greensmith), and the three form an unlikely but...

Adapted from the 2015 novel by Katherine Center, Netflix’s “Happiness for Beginners” largely takes place in the wilderness, where different kinds of people are forced to bond while braving the elements as they hike the Appalachian Trail. Led by “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “The Office” alum Ellie Kemper, the gaggle of goofballs provides laughs of all kinds as well as some heartfelt moments.
Zealous camp guide Bennett (Ben Cook) keeps everything interesting, especially when he scolds Helen (Kemper) for her careless mistakes on the hike and praises Jake (Luke Grimes) for all of his perfect moves in setting up and taking down camp. Nico Santos and Gus Birney even more humor to this romantic comedy story.
Here’s who plays who in “Happiness for Beginners”:
Helen (Ellie Kemper)
Ellie Kemper portrays Helen, who wants to start over after she divorces her husband. She experienced infidelity and a miscarriage during their marriage.

“America’s two great specialties are demagogues and rock and roll, and we’ve all heard plenty of both in our time…”
The little worker ants of The Losers’ Club are wiggling beneath the lens of your magnifying glass in the first installment of their three-part series on Stephen King‘s Under the Dome. Three parts? Yes, three parts — have you seen the size of this thing? The 1,100-page small-town epic is easily one of the author’s most ambitious books, with King dropping an impenetrable alien dome over the quaint town of Chester’s Mill in his efforts to distill and dissect the intersection of politics and evangelicalism in post-9/11 America.
Join Losers Randall Colburn, Ashley Casseday, Dan Caffrey, and Dan Pfleegor as they unpack the 2009 book’s decades-long history, King’s quotes about its creation, and the fractious political and social climate that influenced its themes. Dick Cheney,...

“I sometimes picture these unfortunates as men and women being pecked to death by predatory birds. The birds are invisible – at least until a psychiatrist who is good, or lucky, or both, sprays them with his version of Luminol and shines the right light on them – but they are nevertheless very real. The wonder is that so many OCDs manage to live productive lives, just the same. They work, they eat, they go to movies, they make love to their girlfriends and boyfriends, their wives and husbands . . . and all the time those birds are there, clinging to them and pecking away little bits of flesh.”

After the surprising rise and appallingly steady excellence of The Simpsons’ first decade, many long-time supporters felt the show would have gone out on top if it ended around 2001-2002. The late 1990s era was hit with a traumatic loss with the death of comic genius Phil Hartman. After a pay dispute, voice actress Maggie Roswell left from 1999 to 2002, resulting in the death of the Maude Flanders in the episode “Alone Again, Natura-Diddily.” But the first cracks in the series’ “Golden Age” appeared when Principal Skinner was redacted and retrofitted for “The Principal and the Pauper,” from season 9. It was seen as a major copout.
With Beavis and Butt-Head amping up cartoons on MTV, Fox had a new dangerous animated show on the block, Family Guy. But with every breakthrough, South Park would point out how “The Simpsons already did it.” Knowing this, The Simpsons softened the sharp-edged animation (moving...

This post contains spoilers for the first episode of "Yellowjackets" season 2.
Comparisons between "Yellowjackets" and "Lost" were always going to be inevitable. Even before "Yellowjackets" proved itself a character-driven thriller capable of doling out mysteries and Wtf moments at an impressive pace, the two clearly shared significant narrative DNA. With multiple timelines, a plane crash, and a possibly sentient setting that's at once magical and spooky, "Yellowjackets" is a fantastic heir apparent to the hit 2004 series — one that arrived about a decade after everyone quit looking for its successor.
In its season premiere, though, "Yellowjackets" sets itself apart from "Lost" and most other mystery box shows like it in an intriguing, major way. The contrast comes in the episode's cold open, a tremendous montage set to Sharon Van Etten's "Seventeen." The scene gets viewers up to speed after a time jump, showing us what the stranded teammates' typical winter...

Deborah Barak, one of the most prominent, influential and beloved TV business executives of the past three decades, died today, Jan. 21, after a long battle with cancer. She was 65.
Barak’s passing comes just two years after she left CBS at the end of 2020. During her 35 years at the company, rising to President of Business Operations, she created deal templates and introduced business models that have since become industry standards. A skilled negotiator who was highly respected by her peers, Barak — known to all as Debby — led the network’s and studio’s highest-profile negotiations. She brokered a slew of mega talent and show deals while always keeping her cool under pressure in the most chaotic situations.
Behind the steely exterior, the unassuming and press-shy Barak had a great sense of humor. She also was a wonderful mentor to scores of industry professionals who now carry on her legacy.

Screenwriters across the industry are mourning the long-running Warner Bros. Television Workshop, which newly merged studio Warner Bros. Discovery is shutting down after more than 40 years.
“I got my first staff writing gig b/c of the WB Writers Workshop. The reason I can celebrate the release of a trailer for my movie today ties back to this workshop,” tweeted Akela Cooper (class of 2009), who wrote the screenplay for upcoming Blumhouse feature M3GAN (whose trailer has become an instant viral sensation). “It helped kick start so many careers. To see it scrapped in the name of capitalism is infuriating and heartbreaking.”

Horror and television have always been a bit of an awkward fit. What’s scary and what’s bingeable are often mutually exclusive. Horror requires that you suspend your disbelief and the longer it asks of your attention span, the higher the risk that the tension wanes.

Gathered on Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Paramount+, and more are some truly great streaming options to elevate the heart rate. Here we’ve compiled the very best of the best. Jo Ann Ross, the TV industry’s first female ad-sales chief, will take a new chairman role at Paramount Global, while John Halley will take on the position of president, overseeing U.S. sales — a major transition at the media company that aims to merge Ross’ close contact with clients with Halley’s expertise in new forms of digital advertising.
Halley will report directly to Paramount Global’s CEO, Bob Bakish, while Ross will “provide her expertise and experience in a strategic advisory role to ensure a smooth transition,” the company said in a statement.
Ross has been a trailblazer in the TV industry, taking over ad sales for the former CBS Corp. after the departure of Joe Abruzzese in 2002, when he exited to join Discovery Communications. Television is cyclical. When one successful show ends we immediately question what’s the next show, if any, that could replace it. ABC’s puzzling mystery “Lost” ended 12 years ago and creatives are still trying to find ways to recapture the dizzying, mounting, and (sometimes) frustrating tension that series cultivated. The latest attempt is the new Epix series “From,” which boasts so many connections to “Lost” (and alumnae) that the viewer may wonder if the desire is for this to stand alone on its own merits.
We meet the residents of a run-down town as they’re preparing to call it a day. Not because their work has been done, but as town cryer/sheriff Boyd Stevens (Harold Perrineau) warns them: They have to be inside before the sun sets. It’s discovered that the town is preyed on nightly by mysterious creatures who look like real people, yet aren’t.

Exclusive: Bess Rous will round out the cast of Chris McKay’s Universal monster movie, Renfield.
She joins an ensemble that includes Nicholas Hoult, Nicolas Cage, Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez and Shohreh Aghdashloo, as previously announced.
The film based on an original story outline by Robert Kirkman centers on Renfield (Hoult), who has grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Cage) lackey. The henchman finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).
Bess will play Caitlyn, a member of a support group for people in toxic relationships.
Ryan Ridley penned the script. McKay is producing the film shooting in New Orleans with Skybound Entertainment’s film team, including Kirkman, David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst, with his producing partner Samantha Nisenboim exec producing.
