Typical Late Welk
juanruiz-6567922 March 2021
This program from 1981 has all the potential to be great, featuring music from the movies and, as a bonus, a guest star of the magnitude of Henry Mancini. Lamentably, it's a Welk show from the penultimate year.

This means the typical string of 2-minute songs. Even Mancini, who doesn't show up until 40 minutes into a 50-minute show, receives the same treatment. One gets the impression his contribution was prerecorded and added in. To make room for him there's no Joe Feeney, Jimmy, Kathie, or Norma (who was gone anyway).

Actually, this was shown about 5 months ago, and the "upcoming" programs were already on a short time ago, one being a New Years Eve show.

Strangely, the wrap around from 2009 does not mention Mancini had died in 1994.
