For many Yu-Gi-Oh! players, the love of the card game evolved from watching the anime in the late ‘90s and early 2000s. Although the real game has evolved well beyond the accompanying show, there’s still a fervent nostalgia for that era’s classic cards, packs, and decks. The likes of the Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Kuriboh, and many more are ingrained for fans as part of why we took interest in the first place, and why we’re still playing.
Fortunately, Konami’s aware of this and, although the original starter decks for Yugi, Kaiba, Joey and Pegasus can now be quite pricey to get a hold of, several newer versions have been released that adhere to more modern standards of play. These sets still contain many of the cards associated with Yugi, Seto Kaiba and other favorites, but also come with spells,...

Everyone has wished at one point to have a clone of them to do some of the work when they get busy or to take the kids for just a few hours or anything they can imagine. Recreator ( trailer ) takes this idea and skews it: What if your clone was a far superior version of you? Would kill the clone? Would you let it replace you? Would you change? The writer and director of Recreator , Gregory Orr, sat down with Shock to give us the background behind the film, the morality and values that can be learned from being replaced and why teenage girls seem to love cloning. Shock Till You Drop: I could really use another one of me. Do you think you can help me out? Gregory Orr: I think that might be possible. Award-winning thriller Recreator will have its international premiere next week at Sci-Fi-London.
The film - which won Best Picture at the Philadelphia Terror Fest - tells the story of three teenage hikers who accidentally trigger a deadly experiment that creates their duplicates.
The clones are stronger, faster and smarter than the original kids and plot to kill them and take over their identities.
"It's about out-thinking yourself in order to survive", says the film's writer/director Gregory Orr. He adds he is looking forward to attending the London event, which is known more formally as The International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film.
Teenage test audiences say the film is a cross between sci-fi classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the Twilight series.
The film stars Stella Maeve, who portrayed drummer Sandy West in last year's The Runaways, and John de Lancie, best known to fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation...

Writer/director Gregory Orr’s Recreator looks pretty great. It’s the story of three teens who head off into the wilderness for a weekend of camping, end up squatting in an empty cabin rather than roughing it in the woods and there encounter…themselves!
It sounds a bit cheesy and it certainly starts off a little silly but I’m loving that this isn’t taking itself too seriously, even when the clones seem to be on a mission to kill the originals and take over their lives. It looks like fun, even if I can’t figure out how their arrival at the cabin could possibly have triggered some evil scientist’s experiment.
The film has already screened for a few audiences but is about to get its biggest push when it plays Sci-Fi London in a few weeks. I’m hopeful we’ll get a chance to...

Imagine a horror movie without blood, guts, gore, vampires or ghouls—or even a psycho on the loose. Doesn’t sound like your typical scare fare, does it? We do, however, have three teenagers on a camping trip in the woods, and there is a cabin. Does this seems a bit more familiar? Well, yes and no. The threesome do encounter three monsters in the woods…but in Recreator, they happen to be literal duplicates of the story’s young lead characters—Tracy (Stella Maeve), Craig (Alexander Nifong) and Derek (Jamal Mallory-McCree)—only far superior in every way. Where did these clones come from? One creepy suggestion is for sure: We can all be replaced!
