This episode of "Frontline" is about the election in Iran in 2009 in which the standing leader stole the election. In response, folks took to the street in protest and the death in the title refers to a woman who was one of several murders. In essence, to squelch the push for TRUE democratic elections, they killed a few folks in the crowds. The fact that they killed folks shouldn't come as a surprise but what s really galling is the way that the government has recreated history--like the book '1984'. They arrested and intimidated witnesses and then went on television to talk about that 'poor lady who was killed by the protesters'!! And, although the show doesn't talk about it, most of the world only made token protests. All in all a very important and very depressing show--one that makes you wonder if these folks will ever get a government that is at all responsive to the will of the people.
