This was supposed to be the first Vivàsvan film, but production came to a halt in January 2004. Schneider then produced Deed Poll (2004) instead. From the first draft of the script until its release in 2008, it took more than five years to finish this film.
Joel Kirby, Nicola Ransom, and Barbara Kowa were originally cast for the parts of "Mark", "Eva", and "Maria Flynn".
Ingo J. Biermann, Ian Brewner, Dominic Leclerc, Ian Talbot, and Colin Teague all turned down the offer to direct this film.
Micah Sloat, Daniel Percival, Ian Rose, Philippe Bas, and Stuart Sinclair Blyth were considered for the role of "Mark". When location changed from England to Berlin, the producer decided to cast Michael F. Stoerzer for the part.
