In November 2000, Joshua posted a six minute version of 'The Award Showdown' on the A.I. "Bagel Cam" messageboard on CountingDown.com, in hopes of getting Steven Spielberg to watch the short. Eventually Spielberg did and insisted to post it on CountingDown.com where it played alongside other short films that Spielberg, Ron Howard, and Steve Martin created for the DreamWorks-based website. The short film was then sent to film composer, John Williams, who loved it and granted Joshua with permission to use his famous movie scores in the film. Spielberg and his long-time producer, Kathleen Kennedy requested their own copies of the film so they could show their families.
