Even though hardcore Addams Family fans had very low expectations before the show's release, Netflix's Wednesday turned out to be a quality show, being a hilarious horror comedy with enough satire, drama and, needless to say, the supernatural.
And soon, the second season will start its active production phase, so the streaming service is rushing to please us with some intriguing details. So, a year after the renewal, during Tudum in January 2024, it was officially revealed that in addition to Jenna Ortega, the second season will star Emma Myers, Joy Sunday and none other than Hunter Doohan, who appeared in the first season as Tyler Galpin, the son of the local sheriff, the romantic interest of Wednesday and ultimately a threat to Nevermore and all of Jericho, being a dangerous monster Hyde.

In 2018, Michelle and Barack Obama's production company Higher Ground signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, the biggest streaming service in the world. The Obamas were set to produce a number of high-profile projects, both scripted and unscripted.
Their first scripted project will premiere on May 9th, and it's not what you might have expected from the former President and First Lady. Bodkin is a dark comedy/mystery/thriller set in a small Irish town, starring comedy legend Will Forte.
What's It About?
True crime podcasters Gilbert (Forte), Dove (Siobhán Cullen), and Emmy (Robyn Cara) are desperately hoping to find a story juicy enough to make their podcast stand out in a crowded market. They decide to head to Ireland, where three strangers once disappeared from the (fictional) small coastal town of Bodkin.
The podcasters come to Bodkin on the festival of Samhain (which one character flippantly describes as 'the Irish Day of the Dead'.

Netflix have unveiled their slate for 2024 and we can expect firm favourites like Squid Game and The Umbrella Academy to return.

Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) reunites with filmmaker Richard Linklater for Netflix’s Hit Man, a dark comedy so weird it’s hard to believe it’s inspired by a true story. After xix months of solitude on a spaceship, floating alone with no one to talk to, Astronaut Jakub Prochazka (Adam Sandler) has a bizarre encounter with an extraterrestrial (voiced by Paul Dano) in the trailer for Netflix’s Spaceman. Or is the spider-like creature merely a figment of his imagination?

What a year it has been for the world of streaming and the entertainment industry at large!
With the biggest strikes in Hollywood history, entire companies undergoing tremendous shifts, and a multitude of other trends, it has indeed been an interesting year. What have been Netflix’s strengths and weaknesses over the past year?
Here are our hot takes on the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The Good: Licensing is Back
When Netflix first began its streaming service, its entire library consisted of licensed titles from Hollywood studios and TV show and movie owners. Since 2013, Netflix has heavily invested in its own roster of shows and movies. The total number of unique titles in its Original library recently reached 4,000, representing over 55% of the total US library.
The reason for this heavy investment is that there were early signs competitors of Netflix would begin to cut off licensing.

The premiere date announcement was accompanied by a new teaser poster featuring an up-close photo of Brown’s left eye reflecting a dragon soaring overhead. “We were so lucky to have Millie,” said Oscar-nominated filmmaker Juan Carlos Fresnadillo in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “She’s a very charismatic, sparkling personality. She has that quality that only stars have, which is you cannot take your eyes off her. Netflix’s first two-minute teaser trailer for Damsel confirms the princess at the heart of the film isn’t of the damsel-in-distress variety. Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown slips into action mode as a princess who is forced to take on a fire-breathing dragon, among other dangerous tasks.

The trailer for the final season of "Sex Education" is here. Netflix released the full trailer on Sept. 12, and soundtracked the new footage with Meatloaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)." In the trailer, the Moordale gang tries to settle into their new school, all while grappling with love, relationships, and sex toys. Netflix confirmed the hit series would be ending after season four back in July, when they released the season's teaser trailer. Netflix then released first-look photos on Aug. 2, teasing the ensemble cast's return to their high school dramedy.
Creator Laurie Nunn told Netflix's Tudum she wasn't certain that season four would be the last when she and the writers began crafting it, but "during that process, it just started to feel very clear that the stories were coming to an end, the characters were being left in a place that I felt really good about it.

During a recent “Rebel Moon” press junket (via /Film), producers Deborah Snyder and Eric Newman expressed relief over the film failing to materialize as an entry in the “Star Wars” universe. Filmmaker Zack Snyder originally conceived “Rebel Moon” as a “Seven Samurai”-inspired “Star Wars” movie that he pitched to Lucasfilm shortly after Disney acquired the studio in 2012 for $4.05 billion. The director wanted to create original characters and he pushed for an R-rated script, which ultimately led “Rebel Moon” to become its own property outside of the “Star Wars” franchise.
“Once, it was a ‘Star Wars’ film, and I never wanted it to be,” Deborah Snyder said. “I remember, I said to Zack, ‘I just feel like your hands are going to be tied so much in what that IP is,’ even though it kind of lived outside of it. So I was kind of happy when that fell apart,...

Squid Game was a legit pop culture phenomenon when it came out in the fall of 2021. No one expected a Korean show like this to have such an impact in North America, but the show became a bona-fide sensation, with the show quickly earning a season two renewal. While the release date hasn’t been revealed yet, at Netflix’s Tudum event, we got a look at the new cast, who join our two returning players, Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun and Lee Byung-hun as Hwang In-ho as the Front Man (as well as the recruiter played by Gong You).

The death date arrived on Manifest Season 4 Episode 20, but the Netflix hit left one character's fate up in the air.
Yes, we're talking about Captain Daly (Frank Deal).
Thankfully, Netflix's Tudum unveiled never-before-seen footage, which clears up that mystery grisly.
While many characters, including Angelina, turned to ash before the remaining survivors went through The Glow to get another chance, Captain Daly was last seen when he was killed off earlier in the season.
The exciting scene picked up after the passengers left the plane for the final time in 2013.
Vance was shown in the Manifest series finale to be rushing onto the plane after everyone left to investigate the 11 missing passengers.
Thanks to the deleted scene, we know what happened, and it's exactly what you expected -- we think.
As Vance and his fellow agents arrive on the plane, they find Captain Daly in a small area of the aircraft.

If its subtitle is to be believed, Netflix's Anna Nicole Smith: You Don't Know Me ostensibly offers a window into the private life of the model and actress, who died of an accidental overdose in 2007. Director Ursula Macfarlane (Untouchable) combines never-before-seen footage of Smith (born Vickie Lynn Hogan), archival clips from talk shows and her E! reality show, and interviews with friends and family to craft what the streamer describes as an "unflinching and humanizing examination" of a woman unfairly maligned by the media and largely unknown to the public.
"Many previous books and films about Anna Nicole twisted her narrative," Macfarlane tells Netflix's Tudum. "I really feel like she is telling her own story in her own words. Adele James, who plays the titular role in Netflix’s Queen Cleopatra docuseries, has addressed the controversy around the project after the Egyptian government criticized the portrayal of the country’s famous ruler as dark-skinned.
