"The Graveyard Rats"[1] is a horror short story by American writer Henry Kuttner, first published in the magazine Weird Tales in March 1936.
The name on the first gravestone is "Catherine Lewis-Padgett". Lewis Padgett is one of Henry Kuttner's pseudonyms. Henry Kuttner wrote the short story "Graveyard Rats".
David Hewlett and Julian Richings were both actors in the film Cube which is directed by the same director.
The story is very similar to the plot of a short story in the Trilogy of Terror 2.
At the Black Church underneath the town, when Masson points his flashlight at the roof, there is a statue on top of the pillars resembling Cthulhu. Henry Kuttner, whose short story this episode is based on, was part of Lovecraft's Circle and one of the authors of the Cthulhu Mythos.
