Captain Buckner receives a directive from fleet headquarters about the feasibility of men and women serving together on ships. The base has been chosen as one of the experimental sites. The displeased captain places the incoming WAVES in the equally displeased Sharkey's barracks. Sharkey threatens the men to treat the women as fellow sailors, and to stay away from them.
