No water is going to put out the metaphorical fire Kendrick Lamar is on, least of all Drake.
Ever since two of the most influential rappers from the industry have locked horns, fans have been burning with anticipation to watch their next move. But while Drake was playing checkers, the ‘Money Trees’ artist seemed to be playing chess with the way things are now unfolding in their infamous beef.

Warner Bros. Discovery is still looking at ways to keep NBA games on TNT, and attempting to match Amazon’s bid for a package of rights might be its last shot.
There hasn’t been much news to report on the NBA front of late. Sure, the Boston Celtics just finished off the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the 2024 NBA Finals, but now that the season is over, fans are on the edge of their seats to see what will happen with the league’s national broadcast rights this time next year. The NBA would like that issue to have been resolved months ago, but indecision and second-guessing by Warner Bros. Discovery has caused the process to drag out. The New York Times reported earlier this week that Wbd was “likely” to try and match Amazon’s bid for a package of games destined for its streaming service Prime Video,...

The NBA legend has served as a studio host for TNT’s Inside the NBA since 2000. His announcement also came amid Warner Bros. Discovery’s uncertainty regarding its media rights to the NBA next year, talks in which Barkley himself has played a starring role.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s bid to stay in the business of basketball is anything but a slam dunk.
The media company has signaled in recent days to the NBA that it would like to discuss the prospect of carving out a small package of game rights to go alongside those already negotiated with Disney, Amazon and NBCUniversal, according to people familiar with the talks. Current NBA media rights are owned by Disney and Warner, but the contract behind them lapses after the 2024-2025 season, and the league has been in discussions with media companies for weeks over new contracts.
Warner Bros. Discovery and the NBA did not reach new terms during a recent window of exclusivity, these people said, but Warner would like the league to consider the idea of a “fourth package” — potentially to keep Warner from pressing what it believes are its rights to match the terms struck...

It’s time to crown a champion of the NBA. The 2024 NBA Finals start on Thursday, June 6 at 8:30 p.m. Et with the Boston Celtics hosting the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 from Td Garden. Diamond’s licensing agreement with Bally ends after the 2024 MLB season, but it appears the channels already have a new name ready to go.
Whether or not Diamond Sports Group is able to exit bankruptcy protections is still an open question, but either way, the Bally Sports branding on its regional sports networks (RSNs) will be gone by the end of baseball season. Diamond’s naming rights deal with Bally expires at the end of the 2024 MLB campaign, and getting a new partner to take over that responsibility has been high on its priorities list. As first reported by Bloomberg, it appears the search is nearly over, as Diamond is closing in on a deal with FanDuel to sell the sports-betting colossus naming rights to the channels.
Key Details: In addition to naming rights, FanDuel would put sports betting-related content on the channels The company would also help to sell...

Studio Galazio and filmmaker Christopher André Marks (“King Otto”) have announced the launch of a new production banner focused on bringing internationally minded stories with Greek themes to global audiences.

The untitled film will be written and directed by Marks alongside a team of veteran international producers including Shani Hinton (“The Stones and Brian Jones”), Raphaël Benoliel (“Emily in Paris”), Adam B. Stern (“Blue Jasmine”) and Erika Aronson (“Blue Jasmine”).

New data from Aluma Insights shows that well over half of NBA fans say the availability of games on their pay-tv service is an important factor to staying subscribed.
No matter how things shake out for the NBA in its new national broadcasting deal, the Association is set to have an increased presence on streaming. Whether Warner Bros. Discovery loses its current package of NBA rights or not, games will stream on the new Venu Sports service, and with ESPN programming set to arrive on Disney+ later this year, NBA games will likely be available on that platform as well, with Prime Video and Peacock also possible streaming landing spots for the NBA. Ahead of the finalization of the league’s new contracts, Aluma Insights has released the findings of a new survey that shows how important the availability of NBA games is to audiences with a pay-tv subscription.

Charles Barkley is mad, and he is not holding back.
The NBA legend-turned Inside the NBA studio host was a guest on The Dan Patrick Show Thursday morning, and he ripped into his parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, and said that he had discussed reconstituting the popular NBA studio show at his own production company, should TNT Sports lose NBA rights.
Barkley said that he has discussed the idea with his co-hosts, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. And, to note, Wbd owns the rights to Inside the NBA but Barkley could find a way to reconstitute it under a different name if he struck out on his own.
“I have my own production company, I would love to do that if if we lose it [NBA rights],” Barkley said. “But I have definitely had — actually somebody suggested that to me, to be honest with you, on the internet — ‘so why doesn’t Charles Barkley sign these three,...

“I have my own production company, I would love to do that if if we lose it [NBA rights],” Barkley said. “But I have definitely had — actually somebody suggested that to me, to be honest with you, on the internet — ‘so why doesn’t Charles Barkley sign these three,...

Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal may have raised concerns with fans as he missed his recent television show appearance.
The four-time NBA champion regularly appears as one of TNT’s hosts on Inside the NBA, alongside Ernie Johnson, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, and Charles Barkley.
The Emmy-winning crew has covered NBA games on TNT throughout many seasons and special events such as the All-Star Game and the playoffs.
Several days ago, Shaq was not among the hosts as the program opened its coverage of a big playoff game with another retired basketball star in his seat.
Ernie introduced Vince Carter as one of the hosts for Sunday’s playoff game coverage, indicating that he was there filling in for Shaq.
Meanwhile, Shaq posted an intriguing message on his social media, which received much attention.

The Association will make more than $7 billion per season in broadcasting fees, according to a new report.
The NBA appears poised to announce that it’s officially leaving TNT. That’s according to Sports Business Journal which reported Wednesday that the Association is gearing up to formalize its new national broadcasting deal this week and that its partners will be ESPN, Amazon’s Prime Video, and NBC, which has seemingly pulled off a major upset by swiping the package of games formerly held by Warner Bros. Discovery’s TNT Sports. It’s a transformational deal for the league and one that leaves Wbd with many more questions than answers.
Key Details: ESPN has retained exclusive NBA Finals rights, and will pay $2.8 billion per season for the NBA’s “A” package. NBC will take over the “B” package, with two primetime windows per week and playoff rights for $2.6 billion. Prime Video...

Prime Video has made deals with nearly all the top sports leagues in North America in the past few years.
Amazon’s Prime Video has become a prime sports destination. The streaming service is fast acquiring sports rights from all of the top leagues in the United States, after the relative success of exclusive NFL “Thursday Night Football” streams have helped to convince leagues that Prime Video is a viable destination for their games. The NBA is the latest league to do business with Prime Video; the Association has reportedly agreed to the framework of a deal that will see Prime Video get a package of NBA regular season and playoff games. New data from Ampere Analysis is helping to demonstrate how truly unique that deal is for Amazon, and The Streamable examines other sports possibilities that could be in Prime Video’s future.

Amazon’s Prime Video is a super-popular video streaming service. TNT is a must-have cable channel. But can you watch TNT on Prime Video? We’ll explain it all.
30-Day Free Trial $8.99+ / month amazon.com
Since TNT is a live cable channel, it is not available on Prime Video. You can stream TNT online, but you will need another service. In 2024, four live TV streaming services carry the full TNT channel: Directv Stream, Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV. Think of those services as replacements for a traditional cable package — you would just get your TV over the internet.
If you only want to watch sports like the NBA on TNT, you can technically watch that on Prime Video if you subscribe to Max as a Prime Video channel. Max is primarily known for its movies and TV, but the service also includes the live sports from TNT and TBS.

Key to this matchup are the two Kia Mvp finalists: Luka Doncic for the Mavericks and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the Thunder. This will mark their first playoff encounter.
Doncic can rely on the experience and firepower of veteran guard Kyrie Irving, while Gilgeous-Alexander benefits from the emergence of rising star Jalen Williams. Both teams have bolstered their rosters with key acquisitions, adding depth to complement their star players.

A new report indicates sources in the sports and media world are increasingly convinced the NBA is about to depart TNT.
So will there be a new version of “Roundball Rock,” or will NBC just dust off the John Tesh original starting in 2025? That decision could be on the minds of Comcast executives these days, as they attempt to win a package of NBA rights in the basketball league’s next national broadcasting deal. The company has lodged a $2.5 billion per year bid for a bundle that would include regular season and playoff games, but it has to worry about a challenge from Warner Bros. Discovery, which has been broadcasting NBA games for nearly 35 years. A new report from the Sports Business Journal reveals that NBC is currently in the lead NBA’s third parcel of games, and details how messy the fight between the two contenders just might get.

What now?
The Skydance Media deal for National Amusements appears to be dead, with the company declining to extend its exclusive negotiating window, and sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that controlling shareholder Shari Redstone is cool on the $26 billion offer from Sony Pictures and Apollo Global Management — a deal that would lead to the breakup of the empire her father built. While it is possible that Paramount’s independent board committee believes that regulatory concerns presented by the Apollo-Sony offer can be overlooked and recommends that deal, it looks like an increasingly challenged proposition.
For the foreseeable future, it appears, the company is in the hands of the three-man committee made up of CBS chief George Cheeks, Paramount Pictures’ Brian Robbins and Chris McCarthy, head of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks. Paramount stock dropped 7 percent to $12.89 at the close in the wake of the news.

The popular team of analysts may not be available on TNT for much longer, as NBC looks poised to steal its NBA package.
Which way is the NBA’s ball set to bounce? Will it carom back to TNT for another decade, or will NBC steal the package of games whose rights are currently owned by Warner Bros. Discovery by making the league an offer it can’t refuse? The latter possibility looks increasingly likely, and if Wbd does lose its NBA rights, one question that many fans will immediately begin to ponder is what will become of the popular “Inside the NBA” team of Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson; arguably the best sports show on television. There are plenty of options available to the group, including the possibility that 2025 is the final time that they appear on TV together.

New details on NBC’s desire to pull the NBA away from TNT have emerged, and if it succeeds it could be a disaster for Wbd.
NBC may be about to pick Warner Bros. Discovery’s pocket. It is not a secret that the network has long wanted to get back into the basketball business. After losing the NBA’s broadcasting rights to ESPN in 2002, NBC has been eager to become a part of the league’s next broadcast deal, and now that NBCUniversal is putting its money where its mouth is. The Wall Street Journal reports that, even though two-thirds of the NBA’s broadcast package has already reportedly been secured by Disney and Amazon, NBC is still in talks with the league to acquire what had been Warner Bros.
