Universal Pictures keeps on pumping out Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies and cartoons – in fact, another Jurassic World movie will be reaching theatres in 2025, and there are two seasons of the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory dropping onto the Netflix streaming service this year. But while that’s all cool to have, one dinosaur series I wish had more installments is the Carnosaur franchise, which was produced by the late, great Roger Corman. The first Carnosaur (which was inspired by a novel written by Harry Adam Knight) was released in 1993 as a mockbuster alternative to Jurassic Park, and was followed by Carnosaur 2 in 1995 and Carnosaur 3: Primal Species in 1996. Sadly, while there were two spin-offs of sorts with Raptor in 2001 and The Eden Formula in 2006, we haven’t gotten an actual Carnosaur movie in almost thirty years, and no sort-of spin-offs in almost twenty years. While I...

The Hills Have Eyes 2. No, not that one. That’s The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 and has one of the greatest things ever filmed where a dog, an actual dog, has a flashback and its just, muah, chef’s kiss. While I actually think that original 1985 sequel is way too much fun for its own good – it was written and directed by Craven, brings back Michael Berryman, has Harry Manfredini give us the score, and oh yeah, has a dog flashback. A Dog, Flashback – I’m not here to talk about that one that is probably so bad it’s good. I’m here to discuss the true black sheep of this inbred mountain family and give you all a look at the movie that is not a remake of the sequel but rather a sequel to the remake. Expect to see Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 next Halloween season, as it’s currently set for Fall 2025 release.
The announcement came via CinemaCon and social media, and arrives shortly after producer Jason Blum teased a behind the scenes photo from inside Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The sequel hadn’t been confirmed at the time of his posting, but this news makes it official.
Released in theaters and available for streaming on Peacock on the same day, the Emma Tammi-directed Five Night’s at Freddy’s was Blumhouse’s highest grossing movie of all time. In other words, it’s no surprise that the sequel was quickly greenlit.

Following the global success of Five Nights at Freddy’s last fall, Universal and Blumhouse are headed back to the pizzeria.
A sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, is in the works for release in fall 2025, Universal President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution Jim Orr said during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation Wednesday afternoon in Las Vegas.
The first film based on the wildly popular video game launched domestically day-and-date in cinemas and on Peacock on October 27. It went theatrical-only overseas and grossed over $291 million worldwide. The movie was also the most watched title ever in a weekend on Peacock, an anomaly given Freddy’s fans’ yearning to see the pic on the big screen. That doesn’t happen often with theatrical day-and-date streaming movies.

No word if part two here is also day-and-date on Peacock.

Is it time for six nights at Freddy’s? A sequel to horror hit Five Nights at Freddy‘s is in the works, Universal revealed at CinemaCon Wednesday.
The first film was a surprise sensation that weathered poor reviews and a day-and-date release on Peacock to land Blumhouse’s top opening of all time with $78 million. The feature from director Emma Tammi was based on the video game and counted creator Scott Cawthon as its screenwriter. It centered on a security guard played by Josh Hutcherson, who took a job at a pizzeria with murderous animatronic animals.
Tammi previously told The Hollywood Reporter of a potential sequel: “We have some loose ends that I think are going to have to come back in a sequel to be tied up.”

Many people would claim that Frank Darabont has made the best Stephen King adaptations ever put on film, but did you know that over a decade before making The Shawshank Redemption, it would be Stephen King himself who helped Frank Darabont become a filmmaker? Frank would use one of Stephen King’s infamous “Dollar Babies” where King would allow aspiring filmmakers to license one of his short stories for just $1. Darabont would adapt King’s short The Woman in the Room which would be short-listed for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short film in 1983. Despite not getting the nomination, and not even particularly liking the short, King was a fan and for $5,000, granted Darabont the rights to adapt another of his short stories: Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
Of course, Darabont wasn’t quite ready to tackle something as massive as that story just yet, so he made...

Ah, the 1990s. Perhaps the peak of the moviegoing experience. Theaters consistently showed classics such as the special effects marvel "Jurassic Park," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Pulp Fiction," "Fargo," and "Titanic." The decade also featured an abundance of outstanding horror films like "The Sixth Sense," "Scream," "Misery," and "Interview with the Vampire," all boasting big-name stars and top-tier directors.
However, playing at the opposite end of the cineplex were thrillers you may have never heard about or skipped simply due to bad reviews or scathing word of mouth. Some of Hollywood's top talent attached themselves to such projects, thwarted by ornery critics or moviegoers seeking higher-end entertainment. That's a shame.
While there are undoubtedly plenty of terrible horror films from the 90s, the decade was also ripe with lower-tier entries that have aged surprisingly well. Many don't reset the bar established by esteemed pictures like "The Silence of the Lambs,...

While fans of the Showtime series Yellowjackets (read our review of season 2 Here) patiently wait to see the bonus episode that’s going to air sometime between the second and third seasons, showrunners Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and Jonathan Lisco have let it be known that season 3 – which was, of course, greatly delayed by the strikes that hit the entertainment industry last year – is finally going to start filming in May, aiming for an early 2025 premiere!

My confession: I was a late bloomer to loving horror movies. Well, ok, I've been drawn to art and stories that scare me since I can remember, but it was only in high school that my curiosity started to overpower my fear (that and I discovered ways to access movies without my parents). Even so, it took me until October 2017, my first spooky season in college, to finally watch the classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street."
Why did I take so long? I'd heard of the movie before and I knew who Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) was. I'd seen "The Simpsons" parody in "Treehouse of Horror VI" ("Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace") and understood what it was referencing. I even knew the lyrics of the ghostly killer's theme song. Shouldn't "Nightmare" have been a priority for me?
Yet, as a budding cinephile in the early 2000s, I spent as much time...

Exploring the Thrills of Five Nights At Freddy’s Gameplay The Five Nights At Freddy’s gameplay mechanics are a masterclass in horror game design. The game ingeniously employs a first-person perspective, immersing you in an environment riddled with animatronic characters that come to life after hours. Your objective is to survive five nights by skillfully managing your meager resources: power and security cameras. Players must monitor security cameras, conserve power, and avoid being caught by the animatronic characters, who become increasingly aggressive as the night progresses. The deceptively simple point-and-click gameplay, however, hid a darker story. Unraveling the Mysterious Lore of...

Emma Tammi's new horror film "Five Nights at Freddy's," based on the popular line of video games, is one of the more impressive success stories of the year. The film is about a somnambulistic night watchman named Mike (Josh Hutcherson) who takes a gig watching a disused children's pizzeria, closed since the late 1980s. The pizzeria, called Freddy Fazbear's, is outfitted with an animatronic band of anthropomorphic animals like one might have seen as Showbiz Pizza back in the day. Perhaps predictably, the animatronic animals spring to life at night and slay any ne'er-do-wells in the pizzeria. The film, rated PG-13, doesn't lean into gore and mayhem, sadly, but it does contain numerous references to the original games as well as several cameos from popular YouTubers whose online commentary made the "FNaF" games popular back in mid-'10s.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has an incredible cast of characters that fill out the world around the central group, "the gang," and few are as funny or tragic as Matthew "Rickety Cricket" Mara, played by the fabulous David Hornsby. Hornsby is also a writer and co-producer, bringing his slightly twisted sense of humor to the series in more ways than one, but it's hard to deny his impact as Cricket. The first time fans met Cricket, he was a handsome young priest who had intense unrequited feelings for Dee (Kaitlin Olson). He went to high school with the gang, which is where he earned the nickname "Rickety Cricket" because of his leg braces, and they only continue to make his life worse as the years go on. After Dee convinced him to leave the church and told him that her love for him was only because he was a priest and unattainable,...

Whatever your answer is, how do you think that movie would stack up against a potential Men in Black and 21 Jump Street crossover? Do you think fusing a deadpan comedic Sci-Fi story with the irreverent over-the-top humor of a buddy cop movie would actually work well together and become an all-time great movie mash-up? We’re about to find out when we peel the lid back and discover once and for all…Wtf Happened to this unmade Men in Black/21 Jump Street crossover movie?!?
Now, y’all remember that infamous Sony email hack that went down in November of 2014? Well, among the many pieces of news revealed during the data breach was Sony Pictures’ plans to potentially turn 23 Jump Street into a Men in Black franchise crossover event.

This article contains minor Dream Scenario spoilers.
The most remarkable thing about Professor Paul Matthews is how unremarkable he is. The latest addition to Nicolas Cage’s oeuvre of oddballs and nuts is, in fact, impressively forgettable. So what makes him so curiously haunting after you’ve seen Dream Scenario? Cage himself is obviously a major factor. With a frequently perspiring bald cap around the temples, hunched shoulders, and a twitchy gaze that betrays the desperation of a lonely child in a middle-aged body, the veteran thespian has built a darkly amusing portrait of neediness which walks right up to the fine border between character and caricature, and gives it a frantic, pleading wave.
It’s a brilliant creation, and it is implemented in one of the cruelest comedies of the last couple of years. Because in spite of Paul Matthews’ lack of distinction, he is the man of your dreams…...

Gerry dusted off some old-school slang this week on The Golden Bachelor as he considered “knocking boots” with his two remaining ladies in the fantasy suites. Did anyone’s boots actually get to knocking, though? And has Gerry made his final choice already?
Gerry heads to Costa Rica for fantasy suites week with just two women left — Leslie and Theresa — and he realizes he’s a week away from being engaged. He’s in love with both of them, and he is excited to get some “closed door” time with them, he tells Jesse. He’s ready to answer everyone...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Frasier Episode 7, “Freddy’s Birthday.”] All Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott) wants to do is enjoy his birthday, which of course means not having his parents in the same room. Unfortunately, what happens is both Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Lilith (Bebe Neuwirth) attend his party. Chaos, of course, ensues. “What an honor” to bring that relationship back onscreen, Frasier executive producer Chris Harris tells TV Insider. “I was a teenager watching these two on TV, and so most of the time, we were just pinching ourselves and amazed we get to continue their story.” It all begins when Frasier sees Freddy at the bar and incorrectly thinks he’s on a date, until he sees Lilith at the table. They worked backwards from that moment, executive producer Joe Cristalli shares. Frasier “just falling backwards gasping was such a funny moment that we broke that we kind of worked from there, but it also made...

With a title like Freddy’s Fridays, it’s obvious this was meant to cash in on the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s. And with the length of time that film took to actually get made both of the other knockoffs, The Banana Splits Movie and Willy’s Wonderland ended up preceding it to release, so Freddy’s Fridays has the mockbuster slot all to itself.
Todd is bringing an escort named Anastasia home. She doesn’t seem overly concerned when he brings her not to his apartment but to a basement full of candles, chains, and a book with an eye in the middle of the cover. She even reads from it, which is a big mistake. Four figures appear and hack her to pieces as Todd watches.

Matthew Lillard is in his Renaissance era.
His latest film, Five Nights at Freddy’s, is smashing box office and streaming records, he has a new improv show premiering on Amazon’s Freevee next week, his Quest’s End whiskey sold out its first drop, and he runs a luxury gaming company, Beadle & Grimm’s, with four of his close friends.
“This is a really lovely little comeback moment for me,” Lillard tells The Hollywood Reporter, before reconsidering that sentiment. “I sort of want to quote LL [Cool J], ‘Don’t call it a comeback, I’ve been here for years.'”
Lillard is no stranger to a successful franchise, of course, having starred in Scream and Scooby-Doo — but the overwhelming success of the film adaptation of a popular video game about a haunted restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s isn’t lost on him.

Something has happened over the past few years: the once mighty Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen a stumble in both its box office dollars and its quality of films. It seems like anything post Avengers: Endgame has failed to kickstart a true second coming of the brand. Spider-Man: No Way Home played on the nostalgia kick of combining three Spider-man universes into one and came at a time when audiences really yearned for something familiar, propelling it to a solid $1.9 Billion worldwide, but that is the exception. Most people agree that Marvel just hasn’t hit the same highs it used to creatively.
This weekend sees the MCU bring its latest film to the big screen with the sort of sequel to Captain Marvel and sort of big screen version of the Disney+ show Ms. Marvel. If early reactions to the film are any indication, this is not the one...

What made the original "Frasier" series so good? It's a question we at /Film have been feverishly searching for answers to in light of Paramount+'s release of the "Frasier" revival, which is quite mixed, if it's the original series you're holding it to as a standard. There aren't as many jokes per minute, the understanding of its central character isn't always perfect, and they're only just figuring out which elements from the original series were okay to discard, and which needed to be in the mix for the cake to come out tasty.
One of the shakier aspects of this calculus has been the revival's handling of its character dynamics. This is a fully defensible area of weakness -- character dynamics are both the hardest aspect of sitcoms to iron out and the singular aspect that makes them soar or sink. Opinions vary, but if you ask for mine,...

October was another winner over 2022, thanks mostly to “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” (AMC) and early stellar results for “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (Universal). That makes 10 of 11 months that improved compared to last year, with May only slightly down.
That could continue in November, but it might be close. The weight is on three franchise titles: “The Marvels” (Disney) on November 10, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” (Lionsgate) and “Trolls Band Together” (Universal), both November 17. Those three, plus “Wish” (Disney) on November 22, have the best chances of surpassing $100 million in domestic gross, with “The Marvels” and “Hunger Games” the most likely during the month.
October’s improvement over last year will be around 20 percent. That’s off from the 26 percent improvement year to date, but still better than comparable Novembers.

We’ve always known what creeps us out. From clowns to small tight spaces, we as an audience have been subjected to enough now that we know what people and places to stay away from. Some of those have included fun houses, and others include creepy animatronic kid’s entertainment. With movies like The Funhouse (1981) and Magic (1978) reminding of this, Five Nights at Freddy’s should be just as creepy and just as unnerving, unfortunately however, it is not. Five Nights at Freddy’s is neither creepy nor entertaining, even though there is a stellar performance from Josh Hutcherson.

Monday Am: Not a shock here, but Universal/Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming in at $80M over 3-days after a $16M Sunday that was -34% from Saturday’s $24.2M. The fans of this movie were always dead set on seeing it in a cinema, which made it an experiment for Uni by going day-and-date on Peacock so that they could spike paid subs beyond 28M. While the Emma Tammi directed movie is destined to be No. 1 again during the first weekend of November sans Dune: Part Two, all eyes on how much it drops. Many observed that Taylor Swift: Eras Tour was frontloaded, and she posted a -65% decline in weekend 2. That’s about what we’ll see here. At $80M, it’s still the fifth best opening of October behind Joker ($96.2M), Taylor Swift: Eras Tour ($92.8M), Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($90M) and Venom ($80.2M...

The global cinema landscape experienced an unexpected tremor as Universal and Blumhouse’s ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ made its mark. With a staggering $78 million debut domestically over Halloween weekend, it not only exceeded projections but also set significant records. On its opening day, the horror sensation impressively surpassed even this year’s massive blockbuster, ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie.’ However, while it clinched day one, it couldn’t maintain that lead throughout the weekend, ultimately trailing behind Mario’s colossal $146.3 million weekend haul.
But Freddy’s performance is no small feat, especially when considering it premiered in tandem on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform. This strategy earned it the second-best opening weekend accolade for a day-and-date streaming release, with only Disney’s 2021 ‘Black Widow’ (a robust $80 million in theaters) outdoing it.

A new film sits atop the box-office weekend as the Halloween-themed Five Nights at Freddy’s took control of the box office by a margin of $63.3 million.
In its first weekend of release, the latest horror film from Blumhouse Productions easily claimed the number spot of the weekend box-office top ten with an opening of $78.0 million for the Universal release. Last week’s top film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour finished in a very distant second place with $14.7 million. Despite the finish, the film still sports a three-week total of $149.3 million. Meanwhile, Killers of the Flower Moon dropped a spot to land in third place where it added $9.0 million over the weekend, giving the Paramount Pictures product a two-week total of $40.7 million. The second debut of the weekend, Angel Studios’ After Death landed in fourth place with $5.1 million. Dropping two spots to finish in fifth this weekend, The Exorcist: Believer...

Halloweekend saw a huge horror hit, in fact the biggest opening for this weekend ever, and many movie writers and critics felt older than usual with that movie’s jaw-dropping success among the youth. Read on for the weekend box office report.
Universal and Blumhouse had been developing a movie based on Scott Cawthorn‘s popular video game series, “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” for quite some time, and it was finally released this weekend into 3,675 theaters. Starring Josh Hutcherson (“The Hunger Games”), reviews were harsh, as it only received 25% on RottenTomatoes, but this was always to be expected based on the younger age range of fans of the games and books.
After making a whopping $10.3 million from Thursday previews – more than the $7.7 million made by David Gordon Green‘s “Halloween” reboot in 2018 – the PG-13 rated “Freddy’s” brought in $39.5 million on Friday (including previews). That was more than 2019’s “Joker,...

Once upon a time, the Halloween box office belonged to Freddy Krueger. Now it belongs to Freddy Fazbear as Universal/Blumhouse’s “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is on pace to set a new studio record for Blumhouse with a $78 million opening.
If that figure holds, it will pass the previous Blumhouse record of $76.2 million set in 2018 by the revival of “Halloween.” Even if Saturday and Sunday numbers slip, it is set to more than double the record for the highest weekend total posted by a film on Halloween weekend, a record that previously belonged to “Saw III” with $33 million in 2006.
The adaptation of Scott Cawthon’s indie horror video game series also passed the record for the highest opening weekend set by a film released simultaneously on home platforms, topping the $49 million opening of fellow Blumhouse film “Halloween Kills” in 2021. Like that film, “Five Nights” was released day-and-date on Peacock,...

Universal and Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s is off to a historic start at the domestic box office.
The latest horror offering from Universal and Blumhouse is headed for record-smashing $78 million opening after grossing a monstrous $39.5 million on Friday, including $10.3 million in Thursday previews. The pic — which is coming in notably ahead of industry expectations — is on course to claim one of the top horror openings of all time, as well as the best showing ever for Halloween weekend among all films, despite the fact that it is debuting simultaneously on streaming service Peacock. It’s also the biggest horror opening of 2023 to date, besting Scream VI ($44.4 million), and the second-biggest opening of all time for a video-game adaptation behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($146.3 million), not adjusted for inflation.

With only a couple more months left in 2023, will it be the movie year of the toy? Considering the Barbie box office bonanza…probably. That’s especially true if you throw video games into that category. We’ve seen those Super Mario Brothers, a nifty true-life thriller on the making of Tetris, another non-fiction sports flick involving the motor-racing world of Gran Turismo. And now we go from brightly colored pixel ‘shrooms to whirring-blade-fueled horror. Really, a game that elicits fear as you rack up the points? Oh yeah, this one is so popular there has already been at least one cinema rip-off (using those Saturday morning funsters The Banana Splits which this official fan club member did not appreciate). It’s kinda’ how The Sword And The Sorcerer beat Conan to the multiplex by a few weeks in 1982. Well, now here comes the “real deal”, based on the gaming smash,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” currently in theaters and streaming on Peacock.
Have you ever been enjoying an afternoon at Chuck E. Cheese and thought, “What if these singing animatronics were operated by the spirits of dead children? And what if, when they’re finished strumming fake guitars, they locked the doors to the building and tried to murder me?”
That’s (basically) the idea behind “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” Hollywood’s latest video game adaptation that’s set to be the sleeper horror hit of the fall.
Directed by Emma Tammi, who co-wrote the script with Seth Cuddeback and franchise creator Scott Cawthon, “Fnaf” stars Josh Hutcherson as Mike, a security guard working the graveyard shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, an abandoned arcade restaurant. This post contains spoilers for "Five Nights at Freddy's."
It's been nearly a decade since it was announced that a film adaptation of "Five Nights at Freddy's" was coming our way, and for fans who have been there since the beginning, it's hard to accept that it's finally here. The first "Five Nights at Freddy's" game launched in 2014, and has since become a pop culture phenomenon. Considering we no longer have a monoculture (outside of "Star Wars" and some superhero properties), it might be hard for non-fans to understand just how huge the fandom truly is. Trust and believe — the "FNaF" fandom rivals any group with a cute nickname but with a hell of a lot more fan art. People have been theorizing and dissecting every last crumb of promotional material for months, but now, it's time to finally step inside Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, "a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike,...

Five Nights at Freddy’s partied hard on its first night in theaters.
The latest horror offering from Universal and Blumhouse scared up a massive $10.3 million in Thursday previews at the domestic box office. That’s on par with New Line’s It: Chapter Two ($10.5 million), which debuted to a record $91 million in 2019, not adjusted for inflation. And it’s notably ahead of Blumhouse/Universal’s Halloween ($7.7 million), which also smashed records when opening to $76.2 million in 2018, as well as Halloween Kills ($4.9 million) and Halloween Ends ($5.4 million), not adjusted for inflation. It also trumped Jordan Peele’s Us ($7.4 million).
Freddy’s is tracking to open to $45 million to $50 million, a huge sum considering that the movie is being released simultaneously on Universal’s sister streaming service, Peacock (only paid-tier subscribers will have access). Others think it will do notably more, a premise backed up by the preview gross. But no one...

Martin Scorsese may want to fight back stronger against comic book movie culture, but a video game adaptation (which he may or may not think is cinema) is currently giving his latest film quite the battle at the theaters. While Killers of the Flower Moon has the accolades and the star power behind it, perhaps late-October was an oversight from Paramount and Apple if they wanted it to replicate the kind of business Oppenheimer made this summer. Meanwhile, fans of the haunted pizza place game and audiences looking for some seasonal scares have been flocking to Five Nights at Freddy’s, even with the movie being available to stream on Peacock.
Perhaps a story may develop out of theater goers choosing to go see a movie at the cinema while it is also ready for home convenience. Killers of the Flower Moon‘s release doesn’t follow the day-and-date schedule, although...

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” is finally here.
And the daunting task of scaring the pants off of people who have never heard of the property – and appealing to die-hard fans who have played every game – fell to director Emma Tammi, who had worked with Blumhouse on two movies in their “Into the Dark” Hulu series.
The movie stars Josh Hutcherson as Mike, a man who is down on his luck and caring for his young sister Abby (Piper Rubio). Soon he takes a job as a security guard for an abandoned pizzeria called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which has a sinister past and a small army of incredibly unsettling animatronic characters. (The characters were brought to life in the film thanks to the geniuses at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.) Soon enough Mike is looking into the mysteries of the past while trying to save his own skin in the present.

Moviegoers are feeling in the Halloween spirit.
Universal and Blumhouse’s horror pic Five Nights at Freddy‘s will have no trouble bumping Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour from the top spot at the domestic box office and winning the Oct. 27-Oct. 29 weekend.
Five Nights is tracking to open to at least $45 million to $50 million domestically, a huge sum considering the movie is being released simultaneously on Universal’s sister streaming service, Peacock (only paid-tier subscribers will have access).
Universal insiders say the decision to do a day-and-date release is a win-win for the overall ecosystem. Those who want the communal experience of watching a horror movie in a theater can do so, while Peacock can woo much-needed subscribers. (Apparently streamers see notable growth in October because of Halloween-themed offerings.)
Before the pandemic, most theaters would have outright refused to book a title already available in the home. The Covid-19 crisis changed everything,...

Update: Thursday preview shows grossed a staggering $10.3 million. That would normally suggest a Friday total (including both days) of $25 million or more, and a weekend of at least $60 million. The preview figure is even more impressive for non-summer, non-holiday play. It is nearly as much as “Oppenheimer” (with premium screen price boosting that) in July. The question now is how the clearly large legion of fans respond. If they like it more than its scathing reviews, it could go higher.
On the Friday before Halloween, Blumhouse’s $20 million “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (Universal) will open in more than 3,500 theaters — the same day it will be available for streaming on the studio’s Peacock. Despite that home availability, it’s projected to open to $50 million or more with an average ticket price around $11. Peacock costs $11.99 for the no-ad option ($5.99 with ads).
Will that tracking hold now that reviews are out, and...
