Anwar Kahin: It took me three evenings to finish the second part of this web series of Nagesh Kooknoor. But I was looking forward to the next evening. Not letting a tight script and story distract you from your purpose is the identity of a good director.
Hatred, hatred, familyism, distrust, intrusion etc have become synonyms of today's politics and Kooknoor utilized all its spices of ethnic riots, honey trap, homosexuality, idealism, agents of power, capitalists, criminals and politicians, conflicts, It is. Chess beds are laying, some pawns are looking forward to sacrificing them to cut their heads and some to move forward.
The story goes forward from the end of the first part and the conflict between father-daughter is well played by Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat. Sachin, Ejaz Khan, Ankur Rathi, Sushant Singh, Flora Saini all have lived their roles by heart and Nagesh has given them a lot of opportunity. Nagesh hasn't been able to convey the greed of showing intimate moments of some unnecessary characters, otherwise such a long series doesn't seem boring anywhere.
The satire made on today's TV channel announcers is very accurate. In Mayanagari Mumbai, everything is an illusion of money, it is character. Cinematography and editing are leveled and succeeded in keeping the audience tied to the story. Possibility of the third part is seen in the last scene.
Must watch if you have time.
