Warning: Spoilers
The telling of the Japanese invasion of China is one not a lot of people are explained in the west. We are beaten over the head with Germany and d-day but not told about the rest of the world. This follows the same plot as Ip man 1 and 2. Great martial artist practices style not liked shows up ties a master master gets killed by foreigner and so great martial artist has Chinese racial awakening avenges all of his people. Add in some western racism and you got a cool martial arts movie. Now there is a character who is white wears a Russian uniform carries a luger and has no honor. Ie. Ip man 1 his direct superior is a Japanese pan Asian samurai archetype I just don't know about the Russian/German/Japanese character. The Russian guy who I'm not sure about has a obviously Spanish kid as a lackie. The racial thing is kinda insane. Really does take you out of the movie. You spend a lot of time going what is he? Why is he? It's never explained.

Ip man great Value

While watching the movie, I could not avoid the similarities between this movie and the Ip man. It is fun, but they rip off the same argument.

If ip man had not been released ever, then I would give this movie high praise. Unfortunately, it came out 7 years late. If you haven't watched ip man then you definitely will enjoy this one. The fighting scenes are pretty good and dynamic.

One thing that caught my attention was the facial expressions of the leading actor. He is always tense even when the argument calls for a relaxed expression.

Sometimes the movie is cheese and predictable, but for a Monday night when nothing else is going on, I will recommend this.

Remix Fist of Fury, Fist of Legend and IP Man
ykbytes21 June 2023
This is a retelling, albeit a literary license to change certain things. I'm somewhat familiar (Not greatly) of the history of Japanese occupation of China. This may be a more accurate version. I don't know. However, in Fist of Fury, the Chinese school was presented with a sign saying, "Sick Men of Asia". There is a similar event in this remix presentation, as stated before with creative license to make changes. The fight scenes are great and good. It lacks good continuity and flow. Fist of fury had a clear focus; this lacks anything new, worth the remake. Disappointing, since I like the previous movies and Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Donnie Yen. They all have a great screen presence. To the uninitiated, growing up watching martial arts films as well as the current series of retelling, the uninitiated may like or even love this film. I'm just not sold on its uncreative story line.
