Masque of the Red Death
ronmwangaguhunga23 August 2021
Everything comes together marvelously -- the narration, the dance, the director's eye and -- right on! -- the jazz punk. It parallels our plague times brilliantly, but also gives us the catharsis that we have yet to achieve as the pandemic rages through our communities. Art has never been more essential than it it now. The music is noteworthy. Alisha Trimble's relentless voice paired with movement that mirrors the festive atmosphere's descent is breathtaking. Thank Heaven for Alisha Trimble! All of this, when filtered through Richard's lens, through the chambers into an ending sanguinary red, leaves the observer unsettled but somehow cleansed. This will stay with me. Great work to all the participants in this timely work.
