Alright, well for a start I would like to say that despite how big and integral an element of this short they obviously are, when I watched this I had no particular interest in the natural grace of dolphins, although I'd say the animation here definitely captures the essence and beauty of the creatures. The dolphins were so well animated that I couldn't really tell for certain if they were real or ones that had been rotoscoped or not. I mainly loved this short for the way that the ethereal blue light shimmered and dazzlingly trailed around their forms as they came together and separated in the dark depths, and the barrier between the water and the pastel animation style of the surface. I also greatly enjoyed the soothing and slightly melancholy gentle score which went ideally with the images. What you see isn't really all that much, perhaps even plain to some people's eyes, but I thought it distinguished itself with its animation, which at first seems simple, but grows subtly more complex as the patterns between light and shadow incredibly combine, and the shade is lifted by small glimpses of bright colour, its extremely beautiful and is of outstanding quality, effortlessly conveying a wonderful sense of lightness and peace. It's almost like an idyllic postcard, or a strange moody old dream, and the emotions that the spare, yet deep and lucid imagery brought out was very moving to me. It's so warm... This sorely deserves to be more well known, as it's simply magical. It's really sweet.
