Meanwhile, Gabrielle inadvertently makes a business deal of Carlos' bad when she insults a woman whom is married to a local businessman who is planning to merge his company with that of Carlos. Gabby makes matters worse when she tries to throw a birthday party for Juanita by going all out to win the affection of the other neighborhood kids. Elsewhere, Danny tells his father, Nick, that he knows about his extramarital affair with Julie when she comes home from the hospital. Danny also gives Julie his parents gun to use. The situation goes from bad to worse when Susan accidentally tries to shoot Katherine, who is still stalking her in her twisted agenda to win Mike back. Juanita and a neighbor girl slide down the staircase in a suitcase and injure themselves. Just then the mother comes in and accuses Gaby of being a bad mom.
Julie comes home from hospital, everybody's there to see her including (Domi)Nick. At the party he tries to talk to her. She tells him it's over. Danny sees the tension between them.
Bree comes in late to the party because of work. They ask why Katherine isn't helping. She tells Susan, Lynette, Gaby and Angie she fired her. They all agree she's getting loopy but Lynette says instead of shunning her they should help her so they won't have another Mary Alice on their hands. Bree also accidentally mentions that Katherine told Orson that Mike was hitting on her.
Susan pulls Mike aside to ask him what's up. He says he didn't tell her since Julie was in the hospital and he thought it might upset her. Susan wants to talk to her. He tells her not to worry about it and that she means everything to him and Katherine means nothing. Susan likes this.
Nick goes to talk to Danny. Danny can't believe it. He says he fought with Julie and thought she was blowing him off saying she had a boyfriend but it turned out to be Nick. He says if he sees them together again, he's going to tell Mom. Nick calls his bluff saying Angie won't be destroyed by him having an affair but she will by Danny knowing it and not telling her. He asks if Danny thinks his mother is the perfect one.
McCluskey asks Lynette for help. Roy's on a fixed income and feels kept by McCluskey. She asks the Scavos to hire him as a handyman so he can have some walking around money. She says when Roy's spirit is drooping the problem is global. Lynette agrees.
Post-coital at the motel, Bree is sad to leave. The maid comes in as they kiss. They depart and Bree quickly comes back to look for an earring. The maid helps her and Bree gets a call from Orson. The maid overhears that it's her husband and disapproves and registers it on her face. She gives Bree her earring. Bree is going to give her a tip but thinks better of it when she sees the maid's disdain.
Everyone's canceling on Juanita's birthday because Karen, the little girl's mother from the suitcase incident is spreading the rumor that kids aren't safe at Gaby's house. Gaby asks Carlos for cash to solve the problem. He wonders if it wouldn't be easier to just watch the kids while the play.
Orson's serving dinner. He complains about bad service at the market. Bree comisserates and changes the maid story to a waitress in a cafe. Orson tells her to go back to the cafe and demand courtesy.
Lynette asks Roy to do something but after she does Roy checks in with Tom .Lynette offended.
Gaby comes to playground and tries to convince the snooty moms to let their kids come ot Juanita's party. When they decline she loudly talks up the clown, bouncy house, and monkey and the kids freak and beg to go. Gaby walks away triumphant.
Bree goes to talk to maid. As she helps her make the bed she says the maid doesn't know about her marriage and how she asked for a divorce and is practically a captive and that doesn't make her a bad person. The maid says she knows there must be some good there since she overheard Bree discovering that Orson had grocery shopped. She says cheating is still a sin even when you do it in pearls.
Roy and Lynette argue over where to put a birdhouse. Tom wanted to put it in one part of the yard, Lynette another. Roy calls Tom the man of the house and, unlike Lynette, wants to treat the guy with a little respect. They fight, she fires him and in the process destroys the birdhouse.
Julie surveys the trash where she was attacked. Danny comes up behind her and surprises her. He starts to tell her that he was a suspect but she tells him she knows it wasn't him. He asks if her boyfriend had something to do with it. Julie says he's not that kind of guy. She also says she can't sleep. He says he might have something that helps and goes and gets his gun.
Mike runs a neighborhood watch meeting. Katherine, in a bright red dress, ogles him. Susan makes a big show of kissing Mike. Susan asks for volunteers and overlooks Katherine's raised hand. Susan kisses Mike again. Katherine asks why she didn't pick her. Susan says she's a liar and mentions that Katherine says Mike hit on her. They start to make a scene at the meeting. Susan says for Katherine to leave Mike alone or she'll regret it.
At Juanita's party, Gaby promises to Laura she's watching the kids. Susan hangs out to help with the party. The kids seem to be enjoying themselves and then juanita is sad that the monkey man says the monkey is tired. Gaby tells him to get the monkey perky or he'll never work in this town again.
Bree is at motel just reading a magazine. The maid comes in to change a lightbulb. She wonders if Karl stood her up. Nope, he's on the way says Bree. She offers her the Bible in the nightstand as reading material if she finishes her magazine. Bree asks the maid whether her man cheated once or all the time. The maid leaves in a huff. Then returns and says her husband was the best man she ever knew, it was her that had the affair and she's upset because it broke up her marriage. Bree says she's sorry her affair ended so badly but it doesn't mean that Bree's will. The maid says she seems nice and wonders if she ever feels guilty. She says no. But Bree clearly does and then she admits it, how much guilt she is actually wracked with. (A great scene for Marcia Cross.) She says she doesn't feel worth the love she sees in Orson's eyes. The maid asks if she doesn't want to feel worth it. Karl arrives and wonders what's up. The maid says she's just turning on a light.
Susan and Gaby have a drink on the front porch and Gaby says she won, that of course kids are safe at her house. Cue the kids running and screaming from the yard because the monkey is attacking the clown.
Tom and Lynette argue about Roy. Tom wonders why Lynette cares what Roy thinks. She doesn't like to be judged as a castrating bitch. She then micromanages Tom's dinner decision. Tom goes to visit Roy. Roy apologizes for fighting with Lynette but says a man's still a man and Tom deserves respect. Tom explains why Lynette's a control freak: an absent dad, a drunkard mom, and how he lets her control him because it makes her feel safe and that's his job as her husband. Roy calls him a good man. (Really nice scene).
Carlos tries to console Gaby about the party. In bed. He points out that Celia and Juanita were resourceful when the attack happened and that's due to Gaby. Cue the kids screaming, Gaby says it better not be the good suitcase.
Susan awakes to Julie screaming. Someone's outside the house and Julie's got the gun. Susan takes it from her and yells to the intruder that she's called the police. A person goes by the window and Susan shoots. It's Katherine. She was filling in for Tom Scavo on the neighborhood watch. The whole neighborhood comes out. Susan just grazed Katherine but Katherine goes off saying she tried to kill her and everyone heard her threaten her at the meeting. Bree unloads the gun.
Nick goes to call an ambulance at his house. Angie can't believe Susan is a gun owner. Danny realizes it's their gun. Nick freaks out since the gun is under their own name.
To manage the situation Angie goes to Katherine with a first aid kit to help her out and keep her from calling police. She does this by saying she agrees that it's obvious that Mike still likes her and calling the police on the mother of his child wouldn't be so wise. Plus walking around with a bandage will make her look good and Susan bad. Katherine sees her points.
At episode's end, Lynette watches as a newly understanding Roy comes to put up the birdhouse. Gaby talks on the phone while Juanita and Celia play in the background and the judgy mom sees this and disapproves. Bree sits on the hotel bed in a negligee and looks at the bible. Then she kisses Karl and shuts the drawer.
