Joe "Shithead" Keithley, hardcore punk rocker parodies the troubled Rock Star "Pink" (Roger Waters/Syd Barrett) sitting alone in a chair amidst a barren, surreal landscape in a scene often referred to by Heath Tait as the "Joe-Snow" or "Unreachable Star" scene. It was shot Jan 8, 2005 on a rare, opportune day in mild Vancouver, on a rare and opportune open and barren scrubby land in the middle of the city, homeless hovels in the rubble nearby below the unique fully open skyline, crows playing mischievous tricks on the crew, swooping down through the shots- positively fortuitous in this case. The recurring theme 3x throughout the feature made use of all best angles, the shoot ending almost perfectly on time as it grew too dark for exposure, using the Eclair Super 16mm, 320T film. Heath recalled: "the camera's shutter speed had to be slowed a stop or two after maxing out the lens aperture for the final shot. Those old multi-speed 70's cameras were such fun... what spirit".
