Smashing XXX soap with interesting characters
Girlfriends Films shows a large roster of women on the front cover of the first edition of LESBIAN LEGAL, and they prove to be an interesting bunch. Romance and drama of the Lesbian bent set at a law firm is cleverly set-up and will have me sampling all the sequels.
Tongue-in-cheek premise is firmly established in the opening scene presided over by Samantha Ryan who reads off the academic scores and vitals stats as she introduces to the assembled law partners three new interns for the firm. What makes this amusing is the parallel-world ruled by Lesbians that is posited here, and what unfolds is sort of like a Miss Universe contest (in a world blessed by the absence of Donald Trump). Had Girlfriends Films existed back in the day when porn was theatrical (movie theaters, remember them?) this could be a midnight movie from this scene alone.
Of the interns, a lovely Black actress Rane Revere is introduced but not put to the Sapphic test in Part 1 -fans have to wait a few episodes to see her emote sexually. But the other interns put out gloriously, played by Prinzzess and Alyssa Reece, quite contrasting specimens of young femininity. The older/younger motif is paramount here, but kept within a storyline about the firm.
Main plot development is the acquisition by India Summer of a new client, Tracy Powell, played by Payton Leigh with the unusual aspect of not using her stage name as her character's moniker. Leigh is working on getting a divorce and India (whose stage name is proudly displayed on her office door) concocts an interesting scheme to get the goods on hubby. Meanwhile, Sam Ryan gets the new client in the sack, and we're treated to the "what good are men anyway?" philosophy that amusingly permeates these lesbian dramas.
Slim and sexy Alyssa is easy prey for girl-hungry partner Avy Scott, and I like the way Avy underplays in these dramatic opportunities, after a lengthy career of going gonzo with this or that big-dicked stud (or multiples of them).
The requisite big-bust lady in the cast is Janet Mason, who oddly reminds me a bit of Miranda Richardson -capable of being sexy but still maintaining the demeanor of a character actress rather than a "star" (whatever that really is). She's paired with young stubby-nippled Louisa Lanewood, who unfortunately participated in an anti-semitic XXX video I've boycotted so far titled NICE Jewish GIRLS.
Remaining sex vignette is strictly pro, as India hooks up with Prinzzess, certainly one of the most beautiful actresses and go-to gal in Girlfriends' stable.
