Not great, but entertaining and funny.

Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers gives his side of the story, which puts Elliot and Helen in serious trouble, the order to shoot is given.

I know this wasn't perhaps the greatest ending, it's possibly a little drawn out, and a little underwhelming, but I can certainly appreciate the writing, everything comes together very nicely, all of the little things that have happened along the way, have a relevance here.

When the big twist came, it was really good, unexpected, but clever nonetheless.

I've wondered a the way through who's been the real villain, and it's looking as though Rogers is the main villain of the piece.

It's been so well acted, the two lead performers were terrific, they worked so well together.

Series two awaits, I'm not sure it was necessary, but let's wait and see.

7/10.

Well That's Over

The first half of this episode is fine. All the forces are at work against Eliot and that dying cop (as despicable as they come) has done everything he can to frame him. But Helen is really he hero. She proves the ability to adapt to situations. I was so pleased. And then when they end up at the jail the whole thing gets downright stupid. The final five minutes seem like about twenty. I noticed there will be a season two and so what takes place at the end is going to be modified in some deus ex machina way, I'm sure. So often these little series go along just great and then the writers mess it all up.

[6.8] Elliot and the "flying" cars
cjonesas27 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Well, that finished worse than expected but not totally dismal. The sub-plots are just laughable (excuse me writers!), the only good things (for me) were the Russian woman speaking real Russian, Helene falling in love with Elliot, despite chewing her soul off whatever romantico-caustic feeling she has for him and unfortunately, hair-rising unfortunately, I have to see Jamie Dornan's character trying to take his life again, this time more gently.

* The guy's characters on screen have serious self-preservation issues!

The finale crashed at full speed, thanks to the clueless writers, carving a road toward the second season. Roll on!

Terrible ending, drawn out and pointless

Warning: Spoilers
What was a good series ending in disappointment for me. From the mismatch 'romantic' relationship with Helen, the drawn out endings specify referencing his suicide attempts, to the death of Luci and the inclusion of the lady detailing Elliot's horrific past. It just didn't come together as a satisfactory ending. There was a desire for some sort of reincarnation for Elliot where he sails away in the outback dust determined to start a fresh.. this is where I thought the series or last couple of episodes were leading us to. Instead it briefly references his drug dealing past which disgust him and he decides to Kill himself.

It didn't connect.

Disappointing.

Episode 6

Warning: Spoilers
The finale of The Tourist really veered off in a Marmite fashion.

I can understand the writers trying to do something different but this was an unsatisfying end to the series.

The threat from Kosta is dealt with very early on.

It leaves the Man and Helen trying to clear their name as DI Lachlan frame them for murder.

After that, the episode wants to delve in the Man's dark side, he was involved in drug trafficking. People died horrible deaths because of him.

The Man was not a hero and he hated himself when he found out just what kind of person he really was.

Conceptually sound, it failed in the execution.

Wheels fell off

The show started relatively interesting but it definitely suffered in the end.

The writers clearly didn't know how to finish the show and it felt very rushed and very this will do..

How about an alternate ending?
ron-block5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episodes 1-5 were good. An alternate ending would've saved this show. Luci lives and they go retire with the million. These writers must've decided to depress everyone that committed their time into watch the entire season. What a waste.
