- Ava tries to get into the captive Bishop's mind, but who is playing who? Meanwhile, Mick goes into labor and John fights his addiction.
- With the Legends on high alert with their unwanted guest in their custody, Ava is tasked with the interrogation while Nate and Sara watch. Rory is struggling with the terrible pain in his head and Gary tries to help to manage it the best he can. - Sara enters the medbay and grabs a knife. Bishop is there, dancing to music. She asks him how he's alive and there. Sara figures that he printed himself out , and Bishop says that he's the last-gen version of himself when his data was corrupted and Sara blew up his lab. Bishop insists that he's changed and asks Sara to give him a chance.
Sara locks Bishop in the brig, and he greets the "real" Ava. He then sees Mick and figures that Kayla changed her mind. Sara orders everyone out except Spooner, and tells her to shoot Bishop in the face if he tries to change. Bishop says that he doesn't want to escape, and he feels like he's finally home.
Waverider goes to John's manor, and Ava figures that Bishop wants to torture Sara for destroying his life's work, rather than just killing her. Ava is eager to get inside Bishop's mind, and Sara warns against it. Despite that, Ava wants to talk to Bishop one-on-one, and Sara reluctantly agrees.
John fingers the scar on his back in his sleep, while Zari watches him. He wakes up and sees her, and she says that she was the one who got the Beast. She says that she stabbed the Beast in the back, but John got the scar. Zari points out that John lied to her, and says that Behrad was right that John was different. John says that he needed to get a handle on his new power from the Fountain, and Zari says that might be best and storms out.
Zari goes to the ship and tells Astra what happened with John, and asks Astra to find out what happened to John. Astra suggests that Zari needs Spooner's help, and Zari goes to find Spooner and Astra follows her.
Ava talks to Bishop, who tells her that Sara could have had his pick of his Avas but picked Ava. When Ava starts to leave, Bishop asks her to stay. Sara in the study with Nate, watching the entire thing, and figuring that Ava is trying to make Bishop think she's vulnerable. When Ava comes back, bishop says that he kidnapped Sara to save humanity, and he had nowhere else to go now that he's turned over a new leaf.. He says that Sara and Ava are the closest thing he has to a family.
Sara figures that Bishop won't let himself be manipulated so easily, and in the brig Bishop tells Ava that her model, "Bossy Ava" was always his personal favorite, and exceeded his personal dreams. He admits that he didn't see her getting married, and he designed the Ava clones without love. Ava figures that's why she's having trouble planning the wedding, and Bishop offers to help her figuring it will be fun. He promises that it'll be their little secret, and insists that he wants to get to know Sara.
As Ava goes, Bishop says that he can help Mick, and eventually the babies will eat themselves out of his brain. He offers to give Mick the proper nutrients to his spawn sot they don't eat his brain.
Later, Sara and Ava pour the nutrients into Mick's ear while he's sleeping. Ava says that it's the opening move of her "chess match" with Bishop. Sara wonders if it's okay leaving Spooner alone with Bishop, but Ava figures that Spooner will be okay.
Spooner is in the brig listening to music on her earphones, and Zari and Ava come in and say that they have to talk to her about Spain. Spooner talks to them privately, and she goes into a trance as she describes what happened to John at the Fountain. She realizes something her memory has been erased, and figures that John did it. Astra says that she'll have to put a spell on Spooner to recover the memories.
Ava comes in and Spooner gives her her gun in case Bishop get "out of line". Going into the brig, Bishop asks how Mick is feeling. He offers to help, saying John might need assistance.
John is in his kitchen vomiting from going clean, and the Beast appears and asks John why he's torturing himself. The Beast tells John that he doesn't have to suffer, and John points out that it isn't the first time he's gotten clean. The Beast asks why John hasn't dumped the potion, and says that John will never clean. He dismisses John as a chain-smoker without his magic. When the Beast starts to pour out the potion, John tells him to stop and beast says that John will never be rid of him because he is John.
Sara and Nate continue playing the chess in the study, and Gideon continues scanning Bishop's genetic code. Ava figures that Ava will get Bishop's secret out of him first.
Ava shows Bishop her wedding binder, and he starts planning. She says that she's never been to a wedding, and Bishop tells her to go with a gut. Ava wedding color is gray, and she doesn't understand the point of appetizers. Bishop figures the wedding will be unconventional, but it's all Ava. Ava wonders why Bishop made her weird, and Bishop tells her that he designed her but her accomplishments are her own. Ava thanks Bishop for trying to help, and he points out that he's a clone on his 200th iteration.
When Ava asks how different Bishop is from the one Sara knew, Bishop says that there something missing from the Bishop Sara met. He says that it was missing humility. Sara, watching on the monitor, doesn't believe him.
In private, Astra casts a spell on Spooner to restore her memory. She remembers that the Fountain didn't find John worthy, and he drank the potion to get his magic back. Zari is ready to break up with John, but Astra tells her that first they have to figure out what the potion is.
Bishop picks out Lou Reed music for the wedding, and Ava figures that Sara wouldn't have proposed to her if Bishop hadn't abducted Sara. Ava puts on the music, and Bishop suggests that they have a "father-daughter dance". Ava turns off the monitor, and Sara figures that Ava is making Bishop think he has the upper hand.
Sara enters the force field cell and dances with Bishop, and apologies for making her doubt. Ava thanks him for trying to help, but says that he's more complicated than Mick. As they dance, she asks Bishop why he designed her to feel sadness and happiness at the same time. Bishop tell her that her feelings are just as real as anyone, he's proud of her, and wishes they had a special dance at the wedding. Ava abruptly runs out, and in the hallway gasps for breath.
Sara finds Ava and congratulates her on playing Ava. She realizes that Ava isn't playing her and reports that the scan shows Bishop is human, and Ava figures that Bishop is there because he sees the Legends as family. Sara figures that Ava is going to use the Legends to get to her, and Ava says that it's not about Sara and not everybody has their own family.
Zari goes to John, who apologizes that the magic has a bit of an edge. He asks if they're okay, and Zari tells him to tell her. John says that they're good and he loves her, and Zari says that he looks tired and should take a bath. John escorts Zari leave.
In the mess room, Mick has having contractions and Gary tells Mick that he's in labor sooner than expected. He warns Mick that the delivery will be painful, and Mick says that he can't do it. Gary tells him normal to feel that way, and soon he'll be a daddy. He says that Mick has him and the other legends, and is thrilled when Mick says that Gary will be the godfather.
The Beast appears and asks John who he's trying to impress. It tells John to check his pocket.
Zari takes the bottle of the serum to the others, and Astra confirms that it's Scarlet Lady. It's dark volatile magic, and if John keeps using it, it will kill him. An angry John storms in looking for Zari and tells Zari to give him the Scarlet Lady. She tells him that he can't have her or Scarlet Lady, and he yanks it away from him. Realizing what he's done, John tosses the flask in the trash and apologizes.
Spooner leaves, giving Zari and John their privacy. John tells Zari that was the last of the Scarlet Lady, and he's going to lock himself in the manor and he's not coming out until it's out of his system. As John goes, Zari says that she's going with him.
Sara approaches Ava and apologizes for sending Ava in there alone. Ava says that it was her idea to interrogate Bishop, and insists that focusing on the wedding assured her that things could be managed. But Ava has no idea how she should be feeling, she never had a family to love her, and doesn't know if she will love her family. Sara tells Ava that everything about her is love, and Ava made herself into who she is. Ava says that she loves Sara, and they hug.
Sara has Sara show her what she's planning, and it turns out that all of her ideas were Bishops. Sara is impressed, saying that it's like Bishop is reading her mind. Ava realizes that Bishop has 6% of her DNA.
Bishop uses his knowledge of Sara's passwords to shut down the brig force field and escape, taking Spooner's gun with him.
Gary is taking Mick through the hallways as Mick has more contractions. Nate finds them and notices the ooze coming out of Mick's ear, and Mick's hair starts falling out. Nate finds Sara and Ava and tells them what's happening, and they see Bishop loose on the monitors. Bishop locks down the hallways, and Sara gets out. She confronts Bishop, who says that he just wants to help Mick.
Bishop and Sara fight, Bishop using Sara's NA to match her. He has Gideon put on 70s dance music to fight to, and Mick in the medbay complains about the music as his hair falls out. Gary goes to the medbay where Nate and Ava are standing in the hallway, and he discovers that they're all locked out because of Bishop's override.
As they fight, Bishop tells Sara that he had to take some of her DNA from his system when she blew up his lab, and now he knows everything she knows. He takes out the fun and shoots Sara, goes to the medbay, and grabs two blades.
Sara recovers from the gun's shot, and figures that Bishop is after the eggs in Mick's head. She goes to activate the system reboot.
Bishop tells Mick that they'll have to remove the babies nasally.
The reboot will take 30 minutes, and Ava calls Spooner to ask if she has anything that can shoot through metal.
The first baby emerges from Mick's nose, and Bishop puts it in a case. More babies come out, and Bishop collects them.
Astra and Spooner arrive outside. Before she can shoot the door open, Bishop comes out with the babies and introduces the newest Legends. They put Bishop back in the brig and look at the babies, and Ava takes photos for Lila. Sara thanks Bishop, and he asks her to take him back to herself. Bishop admits that it look bad from his end and says that he messed up, and he's been alone so long that he's forgotten what it's like to be part of a family. He hopes that they'll give him the chance to earn his trust. Once they leave him alone, Bishop takes an earbud component out of his pocket and smiles.
In the manor, John wonders if it's the end of him. Zari tells him that it could be a new beginning, and John tells her that she deserves better than him. She says that she's spent her life trying to be someone else, and with John she is herself. Zari tells John that she loves him, not his magic, and needs the truth. John admits that he doesn't know who he is without magic, and how he'll get through his addiction. But if Zari loves him, he wants to do it with her. Zari kisses him, then goes to have Gideon make him some tea.
Once John is alone, Bishop calls him on the earbud and says that he can help John get his power back if John does him one favor. John takes the earbud out before Bishop can finish and sits down. The Beast appears and says that it will stick around for a while. John tells the Beast that he should have faced him a long time ago, and the Beast asks what Bishop was on about. Insisting that he doesn't care, John says that he's done with the Beast. The Beast throws John across the room, and says that it won't stand idly by while John tosses away their power. It continues beating John, puts the earbud in its ear, takes out the flask, and says that it is John and he can't be rid of it.
Gary, Sara, and Ava check in on Mick, and Gary realizes that Bishop induced Mick's labor prematurely. Ava realizes that Bishop took Mick's earbud during the delivery, and with the comm Bishop can talk to any of them, figuring out who could help him.
The badly injured John crawls to the flask and drinks from it. When he puts it down, the Beast pockets it and asks Bishop what he was saying about getting his powers back.
