- Dexter Morgan: [narrating] The backyard barbeque. It's a hold over from the last ice age when food was scarce, and men had to work together to take down such a large beast. Those who worked well with others survived. And their genes have been passed down through the centuries until they landed here, in this, my community.
- Vince Masuka: None of my business, I know. But... if I loved someone, and that person was gone, and then I moved on and then found someone else, and then that first person all of a sudden showed up again... I don't know. I've never had that problem. But it's gotta be a little confusing.
- Debra Morgan: Maybe. A little.
- Vince Masuka: So then maybe if you know that it's supposed to be weird and confusing, then maybe it's a little easier to handle.
