Charlie Pickering has slammed Channel Ten bosses for changing the air time of Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation. The Australian television personality, who hosts the comedy panel show, said that he believes that ratings would not have suffered if it had been left in its original timeslot and it could have been as "successful" as Adam Hills' Spicks and Specks. Pickering told TV Tonight: "8pm [as an airtime] is pretty unconventional. I don't often criticise the decisions of my masters, because I don't think it's politics. And the fact is everyone is an expert programmer when they're not actually programming a network. "So I'll just say Spicks and Specks was an extremely successful, broadly appealing panel/game show that was allowed to enjoy the same timeslot for the entirety of its existence. (more)...

Omnilab Media may remain committed to developing the sequel to 2010 blockbuster Tomorrow, When the War Began but the film's star, Caitlin Stasey, feels her involvement in the project is over.
The actress, who won an If Award for her performance as Ellie Linton in the adaptation of the best selling John Marsden novel, believes that if a second film does eventually go ahead, it may not feature the original cast members.
"You always hear things, you always hear that someone's writing it, that someone's putting it together," says Stasey. "Nothing has happened until it happens. Unfortunately for the Tomorrow series, I feel that for the actors that were in the first film, maybe our commitment to it is done."
Tomorrow, When the War Began, which was written and directed by Stuart Beattie, was the highest grossing Australian film of 2010, taking $13.48 million at the box office. In February 2011 it was announced...

On this week's episode of popular game show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation, host Shaun Micallef asked actor Josh Lawson how his latest film Any Questions for Ben? was performing.
"Tremendously well," said Lawson, who was dressed as Romeo as part of the episode's Shakespearean theme. "Yeah, no, it's doing very well."
"I should explain," said Micallef quickly to the viewers at home. "We did pre-record this at a point before the film had opened. Can we do the alternative just in case?"
"Of course," Lawson agreed.
"Josh, how is the film doing?"
"People hate it," said Lawson promptly. "And they seem to specifically hate me in it."
The reality seems to lie somewhere in between these two extremes for the latest comedy from Working Dog. Audiences aren't united in their hatred of Any Questions for Ben?, but then again, not many of them have seen it.

Shaun Micallef and Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation will both be returning to television screens next year. The Australian comedy panel show, which is aired on Channel Ten, was rumoured to be coming to an end after reports surfaced that Micallef was keen to move on to other television projects. A spokesperson for Ten has now confirmed that the series will return for at least another year, with Micallef as host and team captains Amanda Keller, Charlie Pickering and Josh Thomas appearing as usual. The channel's representative told the Herald Sun: "Talkin' Bout' Your Generation will be back in 2012 with all cast returning." Thomas caused controversy earlier last year by having a public spat with former Talkin' 'Bout Your (more)...

Josh Thomas has accused Ruby Rose of being a nobody. The stand-up comedian, who used to star on panel show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation alongside presenter and fashion designer Rose, has reignited their public spat from last year by accusing her of doing nothing. When asked what he thinks of Rose, Thomas told National Features: "Ugh. It's pretty well-documented how I feel about her. I'm mostly confused about how everyone knows who she is. Like, what does she do? But I'm aware that me asking that might result in people asking what I actually do and I'd be lost." The Aussie star also referred to his other Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation co-star Shaun Micallef as "a fat idiot loser douche", but then said: (more)...

Gen-y comedian Josh Thomas says he just loves panel shows for their "honest moments".
For comedians having your own sitcom is considered the "Holy Grail" says Josh Thomas, but he makes no apology for being part of the Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation team -- and loving it.
While others may see panel shows as an incidental gig, Thomas, 23, is an unashamed fan of the genre.

Home And Away's Meagher Takes Home Gold Logie
Home And Away veteran Ray Meagher was the toast of Australian TV on Sunday after taking home top honours at the 2010 Logie Awards.
The 65-year-old soap star, who has played Alf Stewart on the series for 22 years, was presented with the Gold Logie after he was nominated in the category for the first time at the TV Week Logie Awards, which celebrates the best in TV Down Under.
Meagher saw off competition from Packed To The Rafters actress Rebecca Gibney as well as his Home And Away co-star Esther Anderson to win the prize.
He joked to the crowd, "These things have never meant much to me over the years, really, mainly because I've never held one. All of a sudden they seem unbelievably important...
"Just being in constant work for the 40 years I've been in the business has just been a wonderful reward. And certainly the last 22 years on Home and Away is more than enough reward. This is just like the icing on the cake."
TV comedy/drama Packed To The Rafters scooped three trophies, while MasterChef Australia also struck gold with two Logies. Game show Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation was named both the Most Popular and Most Outstanding Light Entertainment programme.
Veteran performer Bert Newton was given a standing ovation as he kicked off the Melbourne event, which he hosted just days after it was announced his actor son Matthew had been admitted to rehab to treat undisclosed personal issues.
