Manish Tiwary's Chidiakhana is the story of the underdog where a teenager Sooraj (Ritwik Sahore) who has come to Mumbai with his mother (Rajeshwari Sachdev) from the heart of hinterlands of Bihar. They find themselves caught in the throes of the Marathi-Bihari conflict that threatens to take Sooraj away from his only passion - football, a game that he worships, reveres and lives 24x7. Amidst all the troubles, Sooraj finds a an unexpected help in Pratap Bhai (Prashant Narayanan), a muscleman for a regional political party, who gives wings to his modest dreams. While the unlikely duo bond, Bibha sees red and wants Pratap to leave them alone. Pratap finds himself against his own boss, Bhau (Govind Namdev) and is forced to choose sides. In his journey, the awkward, insecure boy, Sooraj forms unexpected friendships, resolves conflicts at school and the playground and tries to find his place under the sun. The story of an underdog trying to prevail difficult circumstances with the one talent he has is the crux of director Manish Tiwary's Chidiakhana, his latest venture after Issaq and Dil Dosti Etc.
