don't like, don't watch
elucht15 June 2021
A lot of shows are tackling real world issues right now- and viewers don't like that. You want an escape? Go watch Game of Thrones or something. If you watch a show set in modern day- be prepared for modern day issues to be discussed- like the George Floyd situation. If you don't like it- you don't have to watch it. Leave it for the people who actually enjoy it.

Beautifully heartfelt!

I'll never know what it is to feel like I don't belong because of the colour of my skin. I can only imagine the struggles that people go through. I thought this episode was really well written and acted, and was definitely food for thought. I think it's great to see more diverse storylines, it's seems that many people are happy enough to have a diverse cast as long as the story lines don't revolve around issues that other races face. How fair is that? If you don't want to see storylines about race , than perhaps you shouldn't watch a show that features a multi race cast!

Beautiful Episode!

Of course some people who side with police easily jump to conclusion and refuse to watch this episode because they assume this episode attacked police but this was mostly about how race impact on these characters in the United States. I learned three different new perspectives from Gary who is a white-passing Mexican man, Regina, a biracial woman, and Rome, a black man. This episode had a great opportunely to discuss or share their perspectives with others so they can learn about race that they never experienced before.

However, that's a shame when many closed-minded people chose not to listen to their experiences which it still proves that they already have privileges to learn instead of experience it. They just choose not to care about it because this is not their life they fight for daily.

Again, this show is not anti-police. It is anti-police brutality. That's a huge difference. We all know that not all cops are bad but at the same time you seriously need to stop pretending that some bad cops don't exist. They target civilians for no reasons but want to take their lives away due to their skin tones.

I believe the world is much better without closed-minded and ignorant people. You miss a lot of stuff. There is nothing wrong with being open-minded. Just saying.

Necessary episode even i it may have angered some of the audience

I feel like it's important for tv to be a platform where real issues that are happening on a daily basis should be shown. I do feel like AMLT did beautifully with the issue presented in this ep it was touching plus showed what a big part of society has to deal with on a daily basis. It wasn't a political agenda it was just a show of love on something that should be known more about. The cast did an amazing job with what they were given and I quite enjoyed it. Sure does help that we have such a diverse cast helps the audience connect more with the characters and what they are going thru. 10/10. Romany Malco sure broke my heart this ep with his acting: bravo!

Horrible episode. Pandering to BLM
jsi-219 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When Rome told Tyrell to watch himself at the protest over George Floyd's death, because there will be police officers there looking for any reason to kill Tyrell because he's black, I about lost it. What an outrageous BS lie based on nothing in real life. I was a fan of this show, but I'm done with it now.

Finally this show has got real in a way that means something in a world that needs real
anitarl14 May 2021
Thank you show runners, writers, and actors for a show that touched my heart deeply. I'm a 68 year old white woman who has seen the faces and content of the entertainment media evolve over the decades of my life, and I'm so glad it has. I think that because the industry has continued to be willing to tell our stories courageously and truthfully is one reason why our young people are more tolerant of our differences than my generation. I'm disappointed that some viewers are rating this episode a one and calling it garbage, but I guess this show isn't for them. It's for the rest of us. Bravo!

I am DONE with this show....
EugenesMullet17 June 2021
From the moment this season came back on air, I noticed the writing had changed from the characters being candid and witty to them now constantly reciting exhaustive woke sentiments. It has taken all believability out of the show, and the acting has become so belabored with victim narratives, it's become wooden. When we watch a show, it should have an entertainment quality for the audience to escape to - which I feel this show definitely used to have - but now it's like watching a bad sermon every week with its political agenda. There is no balance anymore. It's also become highly stressful and triggering to watch, making us relive the worst parts of a recent past we don't wish to remember right now. I used to love this show, but I cannot even finish this season.

I cried with you, Rome
LittleJennie14 May 2021
This show did it right! I don't attend protests because they can get out of hand so easily and quickly. Rome is almost always my favorite character and felt like he was spot on in this episode. (Not commenting on the other actors & actresses) On an aside some other shows are veering from their main topics (like treating patients at their hospital) to bring in social injustice and other hot topics and it turns me off because it's not in context of show, but this episode made the hot topics fit in without being burdensome. I do wish he had confided in his wife about his true reaction to her injury...but glad his dad was there for him; maybe now dad & son will have a better understanding of each other. Thank you AMLT!

Very heavy handed on the politics
yaornw14 May 2021
Really disappointing episode. Hit us over the head with politics. And it was off point of recent storylines in a big way. I hope this show doesn't become ruined by its writers need to preach like GLEE, NEW AMSTERDAM, and many others before it. There are ways to tell message stories without being preachy and hitting people over the head. This was not the case here, sadly.

Best episode of the season
thedudebryant27 May 2021
In the wake of George Floyd's murder and the following protests the friends discuss racism and their experiences. A very emotional and personal episode. Apparently a lot of racists didn't like this episode but I really don't see them liking this "liberal show" anyway.

No. Just no.
ravenlunatyk-774806 June 2021
I've been over this show for a while now. In fact it's June and The only reason I'm watching this season is to get it off my DVR. The writers take EVERYTHING to the extreme, try too hard to be This is Us and go overboard and it's way too political. Too bad Theo wasn't really lost and off the show. That kid is so annoying I cringe when he's in a scene. His terrible overacting and attempt to be cutesy makes me want to slap him right off my TV. I fast forward every time he's on camera.

So disappointing
deniselbrowne19 May 2021
This was an opportunity to promote understanding and healing. Racism does still exist, and having it explained from the viewpoint of those most affected was very powerful and moving. Unfortunately the writers et al didn't stop there, but instead felt it necessary to incite more anger and hatred. Was the statement, "there are police out there looking for a reason to take your life" really necessary, or even true? How is this helpful?

We watch shows to escape reality
addexinc18 May 2021
We watch shows to escape reality, why bring race and politics into this show. Bringing up COVID was annoying, but man, this is getting hard to watch.

Over it
amlandis819 June 2021
I loved this show up until around this episode. The covid thing was kind of annoying because they started talking about it as the pandemic is winding down. This episode was a direct attack on police. The comment Rome made to Tyrel about police just looking for a reason to take his life was disgusting. And acting like police were just barreling peaceful protestors down was downright insulting. Anyone who watched protests being broadcast on the news knows that many of them were far from peaceful and the use rod force and teargas was necessary to keep innocent people from being harmed and property destroyed. This episode promotes hate.

Trash episode. Spinning things to one side and blaming a whole group is not correct either. Bad pennies do not represent the true stance of a whole group.

Awful
tert723 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Why isn't anyone raising up the poor people being shot in Chicago? Instead they build up a man who had 8 jail terms, 1 for holding a gun to a woman's stomach while robbing her. Sounds awesome. Considering the same people who are putting this felon on a pedestal, are tearing down statues of the founding fathers because of something wrong in their past. Tired of watching this on TV. Trying to get a break from this crap, and it keeps getting shoved down people's throats. I predict this season 4 will be the last season. Go woke, go broke.
