Was originally going to be directed by Martin Koolhoven, but he walked away from the project. He did not like the screenplay and disagreed with the course it should take. Then Paula van der Oest was going to direct, but she also backed out.
The character played by Frits Lambrechts, Janus Kaminski, was named after the famous cinematographer. One of the writers is an fan of Mr Kaminski.
Several crew members play a small part in the movie. Composers Konrad Koselleck and Bart Westerlaken appear as Tara conductor and musician respectively. Writer Sander Burger acts as one of the Tara's and Director Ben Sombogaart was the Stand-in of Hugo Koolschijn who played Pantaar.
