This episode, debuting in February 2021, is not to be confused with The Devil Doll (2020), which debuted in October 2020. This episode showcases 1960s British horror film Devil Doll (1964), while the earlier episode showcased the similarly-titled (but unrelated) 1930s MGM horror film The Devil-Doll (1936).
Natalie Scharf's saxophonist character is referred to as "Anita X. Orcist" in the official "Svengoolie" blog, but credited onscreen as "Anita Exorcist".
This episode was originally produced during the coronavirus pandemic of 2020-2021, with Sven's host segments recorded from his virtual "work from home" locations of Sven Manor and the top-secret Sven Cave, rather than his usual dungeon studio. The Sven Song was likewise recorded remotely with Doug Graves (Doug Scharf) and Anita X. Orcist (Natalie Scharf).
The Sven Song is a parody of "When the Saints Go Marching In".
This episode sees the return of Fraido, the ventriloquist's dummy who took over hosting duties in The Ghost of Frankenstein (2007) while Sven had jury duty. Fraido, Svengoolie's lookalike "brother", was hand-crafted by renowned comic book artist (and fan of the show) Alex Ross.
