Illeana Douglas tells of some good memories of her grandfather, Melvyn Douglas, in Memories from Being There
After watching Being There, I then watched this extra on the DVD in which Illeana Douglas recounted visiting her grandfather, Melvyn Douglas, on the set as well as meeting Peter Sellers and also mentioning how they both first met when Peter was stationed in Burma when Douglas was also stationed there when taking a break from acting to join the army. She mentions how the movie may have influenced her to become an actress as well as how impressed she was with her grandfather whenever they were in New York together. She also comments on director Hal Ashby and his other notable movies like Coming Home and Shampoo. She also mentioned the fine shots picked by cinematographer Caleb Deschanel for this movie. So on that note, Memories from Being There is a nice extra on the BT DVD.
