Yoketron was named after Hideaki Yoke, the head designer of the Takara Toy Company; "Transformers" is a partnership between Hasbro and Takara. The Cyber-Ninja Dojo was also based on Yoke's own home.
Yoketron is voiced by George Takei. Takei is the second Star Trek (1966) actor to voice a Transformer, after Leonard Nimoy who voiced Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie (1986) and Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).
According to Derrick Wyatt, Yoketron transforms into a Cybertronian three-wheeled land vehicle, resembling a Carver One vehicle.
As Warpath leaves, he can be heard uttering "Blam! Pow!" under his breath. This is a reference to the original Warpath from The Transformers (1984), who would always shout "BLAM! POW!" at every instance. This new incarnation of the character is much more cool-headed and mature, though.
Prowl finds Sentinel Prime, Lockdown and Ramjet at the Tigatron Stadium. The stadium's name is a reference to the Beast Wars: Transformers (1996) Maximal Tigatron, who was a samurai character. The Stadium bears a striking resemblance to Detroit's Tiger Stadium, with the notable exception of the giant scoreboard: it resembles the one in Comerica Park, the new home of the Detroit Tigers.
