The Dragon Ball franchise is one of the most popular franchises worldwide. Dragon Ball began airing in 1986, and since then, no anime has come close to it. It rejuvenated when a sequel was announced in the form of Dragon Ball Z. It broke every record and paved the path for the Big Three of anime to make the industry mainstream.
Prince Vegeta was the first major antagonist of the sequel and had a grueling fight with Son Goku. But soon they joined forces and won over the hearts of every anime. Anime lover or not, everyone has heard about Akira Toriyama’s magnum opus. It is sad to hear about the passing of one of the greatest mangaka of all time, but the real value of his franchise will blow everyone’s minds.

If you’re a fan of true crime documentaries or early millennium classic cartoons then boy does Hulu’s list of new releases have some great news for you!
Hulu continues its implicit understanding that streaming services are basically true crime distribution machines this month with a trio of intriguing titles. While it’s not necessarily true crime per se, The Ashley Madison Affair about the notorious dating platform premieres on July 7. That will be followed by Betrayal: The Perfect Husband on July 11, which is based on a compelling podcast of the same name. The Jewel Thief arrives on July 13 to provide an account of Gerald Blanchard, one of history’s most creative criminals.
But where does the cartoon excitement comes in? Well, that’s because season 11 of Matt Groening’s beloved Futurama premieres on July 24. Fry, Leela, the Professor, and Bender will all return for a direct continuation of...

Vampires are taking a wacky bite out of summer. In Season 5 of FX and Hulu’s “What We Do In The Shadows,” Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) looks for a vampire who can give him the transformation that Nandor the Relentless has kept from him. But it may not go as planned. The beloved comedy, which takes a mockumentary look at four vampires living in Staten Island, returns on July 14.
Check out the Season 5 trailer of “What We Do In the Shadows”:
Another highly anticipated return coming to Hulu in July is the latest season of long-running animated series “Futurama.” The show’s first four seasons aired on Fox from 1999 to 2003, it was then picked up by Comedy Central for three seasons from 2008 to 2013. Now, nearly a decade later, the Mike Judge-created series will return for the first half of the 20-episode Season 8 on July 24 with the original voice cast.

The enduring legacy of the "Dragon Ball" franchise cannot be overstated. Manga artist Akira Toriyama created the franchise in 1984 and since then, "Dragon Ball" has been regarded as an ever-evolving global phenomenon. While there are innumerable entries into the franchise, "Dragon Ball Z" (Dbz), which follows an adult Son Goku in his adventures, remains endlessly popular and rewatchable.
In order to appeal to a new generation and widen the franchise further, Toei Animation produced a revised version of "Dbz" titled "Dragon Ball Kai" in 2009. The revamped series was created in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of "Dragon Ball Z" and...

For those who have not been paying attention, it is interesting to note that the Dragon Ball franchise has been seeing a serious revival in recent times. The whole thing started when Toei Animation decided to revise Dragon Ball Z in 2009, which resulted in what is now called Dragon Ball Z Kai. However, it was not until 2015 that Toei Animation released Dragon Ball Super as a true continuation to Dragon Ball Z. So far, Dragon Ball Super has covered a number of plotlines. For example, it covered Goku’s meeting with Beerus, the God of Destruction, which was a

Dragon Ball Super First Look At Son Gohan Dragon Ball Z Kai or Dragon Ball Kai as it's known in Japan is currently winding down the Evil Majin Buu Arc overseas. For those unfamiliar, Kai is the retelling of the original Dragon Ball Z anime in a more condensed, filler free format. For example, the entire Kai series will consist of 167 episodes, whereas the original Dragon Ball Z anime series consists of 291 episodes. The new Dragon Ball Super anime series will begin on July 5th, meaning that it will begin airing right when Kai's Majin Buu Arc ends. It appears that as Kai winds down, the closing credits will provide glimpses of what's to come in Super. Case in point, the Dragon Ball Super twitter account has a snapshot from the most recent episode of Kai's Ed which provided a glimpse of storyboard art for Super's Ed. The concept of...

Longtime fans of the Dragon Ball series just went Super Saiyan. Toei Animation announced today that the famous franchise is getting its first new series in 18 years, Dragon Ball Super. The last iteration, Dragon Ball Gt, ended in 1997, but the series has remained popular in syndication, leading to the remastered version of the Z series, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and two recent movies, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. With the less-than-stellar response Dragon Ball Gt received after creator Akira Toriyama left the series, it has long been rumored that he would return to create a new series called Dragon Ball Av. Although Av never came to fruition, it is exciting to hear that Toriyama is back to the series premiering in July, and that Super will pick up where Resurrection ‘F’ left off.

Voice actress Mayumi Tanaka reported on her blog on Monday that she is recording more dialogue for Dragon Ball Z Kai. However, she noted that the anime will no longer air in Japan, even though it will continue overseas.
Dragon Ball Z Kai (known as just Dragon Ball Kai in Japan) condenses the 1989-1996 Dragon Ball Z anime series to more closely follow Akira Toriyama‘s Dragon Ball manga. The series features digital high-definition remastering, a re-recorded soundtrack, and select scenes updated with new effects or re-animated footage.
Tanaka revealed in her Monday post that she and the other cast members were recording the scene in Tenka’ichi Budōkai where Goten and Trunks sneak into the adults section by standing one on top of the other. Tanaka has played Kuririn (Krillin) in the original Dragon Ball anime, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Kai.

Most people who are familiar with anime (and many who aren’t) probably already know a thing or two about Dragon Ball, one of the most popular family of anime titles to ever grace our shores. But for those of you who don’t, a quick synopsis may be in order. A rough breakdown of the series would go something like:
Episode 1: Goku (charging energy fireball attack) Ka –
Episode 2: Me –
Episode 3: Ah –
Episode 4: Me –
Episode 5: (releases massive wave) Ahh!!!
Episode 6: Ahhhh!!!
Episode 7: Hhh!!!
Episode 8: !!!
Episode 9: Piccolo (sees approaching fireball) Oh crap –
Episode 10: (is hit) Yaaahh!!!
Episode 11: Ahhh!!!
Episode 12: Hhh!!! (end of season 1)
Seasoned fans will get the joke — Dragon Ball, while much beloved, is not exactly known for its breathtaking rate of plot development. Whole episodes, heck, whole Seasons go by as the characters punch, kick, taunt, charge...
