A very good new show
shanghainoon-110771 April 2022
I really give the Gaines family credit for keeping all that was good in the past, but freshening it up for the new network.

She gets more talented as time goes on, and Chip is smart enough to let her shine. These are real people who happen to be naturally decent and nice without being sappy. They are surrounded by neighbors and friends who are showcased for their own talents.

A terrific new addition to the network.

So so so good..

Love the new version of Fixer Upper. Episodes are longer, they have the house already picked out so even more design/fixer time, and so much more CHIP being hilarious. They must have edited him before. Watching him wrestle a tree for 5 minutes was hilarious. Loved it. Also her styling is evolving and it's great to see.

Chip Gains Ruins Fixer Upper: Welcome Home
nicosvf-4047924 January 2022
Here's the problem. Chip Gains used to be slightly funny. Unfortunately, with this new show he's morphed into a moronic fool. It's all about him and his antics. The show is no longer watchable.

Chip and Joanna are BACK!!!
sydandtysmom26 February 2021
I have always been a fan of Fixer Upper and was sad when it ended. Hearing that a new series was coming made me so Happy. And they have Not disappointed!!! Each episode is so different from the one before. I like that the homeowners have already purchased the home rather than being given options. Great series and I Can't wait to see what they have in store!!!

LOVE this show, just like I loved the original Fixer Upper!
jeersNcheers17 February 2022
I don't understand the low ratings and the complaints. I don't miss looking at three ugly houses from which the home owner chose. I believe this show has the same "feel" as the original Fixer Upper. I will say that there is too much talking, but that is an easy fix; they need more action and less talking, especially concerning silly old Chip... PS Chip, please wash and style your hair!

I LOVE THE GAINES!
I've just binged on the 5 available episodes and came here to IMDB to find out if there were more coming. I saw someone had rated this show a 2 out of 10. WHAT?!?! I can't figure out what more this show could possibly do that would be better. It was the fans that encouraged them to come back!

All I can say is DON'T LISTEN TO NAYSAYERS! The new Fixer Upper is phenomenal!

Really stepped it up!!
jtomlinson-4820428 April 2021
I had seen every episode and visited Magnolia in Waco twice. I didn't want to feel like I had already been there and done that, 2 years later!

I am so glad that they have brought in new styles! The work is amazing! They have created a new current style that is unique and still down home satisfying!

Great work!

I am looking forward to seeing what else they are up to!!

I have been trying to knock off this covid 15 so waiting to watch the cooking show as I dine on lower caloric choices. I am looking forward to it though!

Good stuff!!

It's my first time to watch without my darling Sonny Gomez by my side.

Chip sucks
rawiggs17 January 2022
Jo is remarkable. Her design chops are second to none. But how she puts up with that juvenile, scenery chewing Chip is beyond me. He's such an attention seeking creep that he makes the show almost unwatchable.

Chip has got to go!
wkkfzsm24 February 2022
I like seeing the renovations. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing. But Chip is obnoxious and too old to be behaving like a brat. He is not funny. And get a haircut.

It seems as if really doesn't contribute anything. I feel sorry for Jo.

What Happened?!
kodakjack-824908 January 2022
Hey, Chip and Joann are back. What a DUD! Can Chip be any more obnoxious than he used to be? You bet! Does Jo still have that design flair? Nope, she lost it somewhere. The old show was great, despite Chip. Almost every house they did had the same key design elements, but it was great. This is junk.

Disappointed
pmarks-867718 April 2022
I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful but Chip Gaine's behavior is obnoxious. He's way too over the top and childish with his antics which makes the show very unpleasurable to watch. I find myself shutting it off within the first 5, maybe 10, minutes because I can't watch him and his behavior. If he would dial it back it would be a great show to watch. (Sorry Chip).

Its Time to Lose Chip
pbu-1926923 March 2022
I'm sorry but I spent only 5 minutes watching an episode bc I had to fast forward through the obnoxious Chip..Can't watch anymore of him with his dirty hair and ridiculous actions. Jo what might have been cute in a man of 18-20 becomes intolerable in a man his age..I just can't. Sorry I think you are talented but it's time for me to find an other designer with a more tolerable husband..

Huh?

Loved the old show. Not sure what they're trying to achieve with the new one, but I have only one word for it. Droll.

Why does Chip get so much airtime.
beverlybarry-663649 June 2022
What happened to Chip? Did he hit his head? He is obnoxious, and very disrespectful to Shorty. On one episode asked his name but did not let him answer and continued to call him Shorty.

He interrupts Joanne constantly. He looks like a greasy, long haired bum. She should do the show herself snd when she needs help she knows who to turn to. Chip jumps around, yells, and seems to want all the attention. He acts like he is 6.

I can't continue to watch this show and it's too bad no one has the smarts to let them know.

Chip take a vacation.

Does not have the same 'feel'...
bheadher13 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What happened? Chip and Joanna had a smart, sophisticated presentation in the old show, which I still watch as I find the episodes...but this is suddenly like they lost both their minds...

In rather plain language, this new show looks more amateurish, no longer fun to watch...Sorry Chip, sorry Joanna, but this is just another hohum renovation show now...

Question about season 3 episode 10: new nest for a growing family
mmcarthur-2877124 February 2022
I really enjoy all of your programs. But this episode left me with a question. I would like to have seen the bathroom for this renovation. Is there a reason it was not included in the design and decor?

Dull and uninspiring
redwinger2001-617-73237213 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I prefer the old show. Part of the fun was seeing 3 old houses and wondering which one they would choose. So far, the 1st 2 episodes have been employees who have bought their homes recently. I was shocked on the 2nd episode when they fixed a mismatched brick by just covering it up with a wooden structure and training ivy to grow up it. As pretty as it is, ivy growing on the house is not good for the house and that wooden structure won't last long. When that rots and comes down, the mismatched brick is going to look terrible.

Another thing they're good for, even in the old shows, is not hanging items on the wall properly. I watched them drill a hole in the wooden frame around a mirror, right into the wall. They do that often. I guess they don't mind a screw showing on most of the things they hang on the wall.

Maybe this show will improve, but so far it seems forced. Overacting. When they run out of employee's houses to do..them what?

Greasy hair and Wens on HIs Face
whitealicered30 April 2021
Eeee-yuck. Chipper looks like a dirty old hippie and acts likes a fool. What's with the long greasy hair and facial wens?

Now they have no one (HGTV) to reign in his foolishness and Joanna is doing the same old same old. There's nothing new here except the shows are longer. And she still uses books as decorations.

The first show, she installed a giant ugly window between the kitchen and the office! Ha!

And I bet every "client" has a connection to Baylor and/or their church!

Chip👎🏻 Jo 👍
sharynblair24 July 2022
It would be impossible for Chip to be any more obnoxious!...and what's with his hair...😜....too much "filler" commentary! I love Jo's designs! Just cut Chip's dialogue and viewers will come back.

Okay...
equipagekm20 January 2022
I've seen most of their original series on HGTV, and now the first three new episodes on their Magnolia Network. Chip Gaines has grown increasingly juvenile. His childish antics, verbal and physical, have just become so tiresome, and primarily time filling; not contributing to the content. I'm sure he's a talented builder, and luckily there is at least that. Speaking of talented, Joanna seems to be a talented designer and has good vision when it comes to remodeling. But OMG, I am so tired of the whites and creams! :( Just watched the episode (S1 E3) where the young woman asked for a European cottage look. I've lived in Europe for years. A brick paver floor, a few wooden doors, and a couple of arches does not a European cottage make, with all of that white and cream! Looked very Scandinavian, as so many of their interiors do, and it just isn't fresh or new any more. The young woman was very happy, but then this is her first house with help from her parents and certainly more of anything she'd been living in up to that point in her young life on her own. Kind of goofy background music as well, that doesn't seem to fit the content and can be distracting. Yes, we know you're in Texas. Really was hoping for a new vision, evolved choices in color, but seems like more of the same and it's disappointing. I'm certain they don't care what I think on IMDb, but it's my honest opinion, nothing more, nothing less. They will be just fine, and still a big deal in Waco, and fans everywhere. I wish them well.

It's nothing like the original show...they went more modern ...
brendayoung-7884322 February 2021
Their show use to be my absolute favorite, not now. I loved the farmhouse, traditional inspired home fixer upper. So far this is not the same feel at all and to me it's disappointing. I know designers want to not do one type design all the time but Jo owned the farmhouse branding fixer upper and it's a real miss because I was so excited they came back on air. I hope they fixer up the show back to it's Jo style of farmhouse...even if its modern convert to farmhouse feel. Maybe I just need to move on as well as things they do change and there are tons of people that really love modern as well, it's just not what it was about nor what it's about now with the Fixer Upper Welcome Home. For me and what I was expecting the show was going to be and what it is would be the reason for the 2 stars. I'm sure if this is a style you like you would probably give 7+ stars. It is what it is
