The main figure in this episode is veteran rider Jon Court. He's been riding for several decades and just making ends meet. We see his beautiful wife and little daughter. His wife is getting a little impatient and would prefer to go back to Kentucky where they have relatives and friends and Jon had been a very successful rider.
However, Jon rides a big winner near the end of the show, keeping his hopes alive that maybe he can still make it to the big time (like a Breeders Cup race) with this horse. You can't help but be very happy for him and wish him well. He's a well-spoken, pretty classy guy, although we do see a temper tantrum and hear some bleeps as he lets loose after a disappointing loss. Hey, he's human .
Earlier in the episode, there is more good news: Kaya Stra finally wins a race, after 18 tries. What a monkey off of her back!
