A contemporary story about polyamory
bohdanascheinostova24 May 2023
This bold film is a perfect example of a progressive contemporary cinema, that is not afraid to capture modern thoughts on love and romantic relationships - namely polyamory, yet it also doesn't forget about the struggles and obstacles that come with these relationships. What I found especially pleasing were the performances of the main four actors that were in complete harmony - every actor was complimenting another and together they formed a compact performance where noone was towering over the others, which given the plot would be very disruptive in my opinion. I also appreciated the inclusion of positive religious thoughts on polyamory (one of the main characters is a priest), because too often people think that polyamory is not compatible with being a Christian. In that way "Four Little Adults" remind us that we can't choose who we love and, like in this case, how many people we love.

Wonderful, unique relationship drama

Warning: Spoilers
This Finnish gem, by a stellar director, and featuring some true all star cast, is definitely deserving of all the recognition it has gotten.

It is very uniquely written, featuring some interesting twists and turns, a good mix of drama, and comedy through the absurd. The actors, indeed, all do an immensely incredible job at conveying it.

The cinematography, cutting and editing is stellar, very beautifully put together overall, and very unique.

Overall, definitely an incredible film, that is a good start to the new movie season of 2024. Highly recommended for any lover of film indeed, incredible art house drama.

A really good film about poliamory
josestein7 January 2024
As a person who practices poliamory, I think this is an excellent movie. It portraits most of the experiences that you might live on your polyamory journey. It's feel super realistic and positive. During the movie you will see their characters struggling with the same things that you might see in real life. But not only challenges, , positive and heartwarming scences will make you feel heard and understand by the author of this film.

A final and important thing is that this movie is a fantastic resource to explain polyamory to your monogamus friends and family. So if you have a family or friend that has stopped been monogamus, or If you are the one changing to a non monogamus relational option, get or rent It and invite everyone to watch It. It Will definitely help to understand the paradigm.

It's them who cannot bear their circumstances
b_velkova20 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
He is a priest, she is a politician from the Equality Party. They are married and have a child. He has another female partner. They also have a child. She has another non-binary partner, who has another male partner. They are one human family on a Christmas Eve under the all-loving God. Not. Actually, I don't mind. It's them who cannot bear their circumstances. They are hurt, jealous, and angry and on top of that, ashamed for having those feelings, because they believe that if they are mature enough, open-minded enough, they shouldn't have them. But those feelings are at least as natural as the desire to be around fresh collagen when you hit 40.
