Has potential. Very nice music.
While fans might wish to see more of some Visions episodes (The Duel, The Village Bride, The Ninth Jedi), those are as extensions of the stories that's being told on screen. This one, however, on its own already has all the plot elements to become a standalone Star Wars movie. In this regard, Lop & Ocho is my favorite, and it's not even close to my top-rated Visions shorts.
The cultural influence is very, very Japanese. More so than other episodes. But I can see it being adapted to canon without big issues, given that we already have a very Japanese design in The Mandalorian (Chapter 13, where Ahsoka fought the magistrate). Could as well world-build another culture. There are billions of planets in the Star Wars galaxy after all. Lop's character design though might put off some audience.
Lastly, the music and scenery in this short are very nice, especially in the opening and the ending. Film score in "ordinary" films are there only as a backdrop. Star Wars music by John Williams has the quality of being standalone orchestral pieces. The music in this short, while differs in style, has that same quality. I would love to hear more of it if there's an OST coming out of this series.
