- Ashok always thought he would find and marry the girl of his dreams, just like the heroes in the Hindi films he's grown up watching - until his very traditional Indian parents begin pressuring him into an arranged marriage. Shortly before he's supposed to meet his bride-to-be, Ashok meets Maya, a spirited and enchanting young woman, and becomes convinced that he's meant to spend the rest of his life with her.
As he is about to confess his feelings, Maya tells him about her engagement and impending marriage. Heartbroken, Ashok still tries to persuade Maya to see him again, but to no avail. She leaves him with a kiss on the cheek and no way of contacting her.
But Ashok resolves to find her anyway and win her over - just like the hero would win over the heroine in a Bollywood film. And so he embarks on an obsessive search to find Maya, his last shot at true love and his way out of the dreaded arranged marriage. Will Ashok find her in time? Or will he lose hope and succumb to his parents' designs?
