Stop That Dancin' Up There was another Soundie I highly enjoyed watching on YouTube
This was another Soundie I watched on YouTube. In it, Kay Starr sings the title song as she mentions how she needs some sleep and would rather the one above her just rented a dance hall. Later, Jimmie Dodd-who would become more well known as the host of "The Mickey Mouse Club" during the '50s-sings the same lyrics as he duets with Starr. As they sing together, they start dancing themselves and rather enjoy themselves doing so! Talk about contradictions! This was another enjoyable "music video" from the '40s that played on Panorams (film jukeboxes) in restaurants, bars, and bus or train stations during that era. If you're interested in this sort of thing, I highly recommend Stop That Dancin' Up There.
